What Is The Pcm Valve? (r32 Gtr)

wondering whether if someone could tell me (in a nutshell) what the PCM valve does? And why would it be disconnected? My mechanic has disconnected mine when installing the boost controller...

Ahh i see, thanks for that! What did this solenoid do, did it operate like that on the r33 (ie the boost runs at a certain level under 4500rpm and higher after that?)
