here ya go...

difference with Vspec models...

"To celebrate the success of the GT-R in both Group N and Group A racing, Nissan introduces the Skyline GT-R V-Spec ("Victory Specification") car on February 3, 1993. The V-Spec added Brembo brakes and a retuned ATTESA-ETS system to the Nismo and N1 packages, as well as 17" BBS wheels with 235/45/17 tires. The V-Spec has a list price of ¥ 5.260 million.

Finally on February 14, 1994 the Skyline GT-R V-Spec II is released, the only change to the V-Spec being wider 245/45/17 tires. Total production of the V-Spec I and II is 1,453 and 1,303 units respectively. The N1 GT-R is now based on the V-Spec II.

Total production of the R32 Skyline GT-R was 43,394 units, with production starting on May 22, 1989."

Well the Godzilla reference was, originally, made with regard to the Ford Sierra. Something to the effect that "Nissans Godzilla on wheels will slay the Ford Sierra". So technically it was only ever about the Group A cars....

Anyway here is the cover of the Wheels mag from way back in 1989...

WRONG

only the r32 gtr is a true GODZILLA

+1 except i thought only the early 89ish ones (bnr32's) were the true godzilla's and the newer ones (bcnr32?? i cant remember model numbers) were pretty much the same things, with a few improvements and not quite the original... but maybe i'm just being ants at a picnic

You can reasonably refer to any R32 GT-R as Godzilla. They were all BNR32's.

In much the same way you can refer to all later models as soft try hard wannabe's. :)

ohh really, i thought they chucked a letter in to signify the revised one ^^ the guy who picks up the mail other day was giving me crap because i got a 93 and not the 89 'godzilla' one, ima slap the fool

There is bugger all difference between an '89 R32 GT-R & an '94 R32 GT-R.

Couple of changes to the trim, one to the crank/oil pump interface & a few other tidbits.

Some people get confused because you can buy R33 GTS-T's built in '93 & '94, ie alongside the last of the R32 GT-R's.

Well.... WRONG! According to the general automotive media you can refer to any Nissan GTR as Godzilla, including the upcoming 2008 GTR. :D

Nissan GTR: bring back Godzilla

A decision on whether Nissan's iconic supercar GT-R will be back in Australian showrooms will be made in October.

The wait has been long, but enthusiasts should know by October if Nissan's GT-R supercar will return to Australia. Unveiled as the GT-R Proto concept car in 2001, the eagerly awaited supercar has been a slow-burner.

But it will be officially launched at the Tokyo Motor Show, which starts on October 26.

At the same time, Nissan Australia general manager of marketing Ross Booth hopes to announce if the supercar will return Down Under. If it gets the go-ahead, the supercar, nicknamed “Godzilla”, could be on sale here late next year.

You know you are struggling to make your point when you need to refer to the general automotive media, don't you!

:P

so who did you think came up with refering to GTR as Godzilla in the first place? yes, the media!

where are all the 33 and 34 GTR owners? surely they won't accept the fact that theirs are not real Godzillas! :)

    • That would be interested if it's the case as seems like it would make the job a lot messier but subaru sells OEM gaskets so seems it might of had it.
    • Fuel tank is out. Looks pretty bloody good under (ie above) the fuel tank.  Amazing how good the factory e-coat holds up in the hidden areas.  No where near as much body deadener to get rid of as the front but still not looking forward to it!  Shit of a job.  I'm thinking I might grab a needle scaler and give that a go before I attack it with the angle grinder and wire wheel which is how I did the front 2/3's of the car.  Feels good to be working on the car again but who knows how long it will last!  Hopefully I can get it further forward than where it was prior to this last block of work when I decided to go back 10 steps further down the rabbit hole from where i already was! The problem is, I'm realising how hard it will be to repair and paint the bumpers, which cannot be put back on the car, and have a good paint match. There are also areas where it would be VERY hard to hide the new paint where it transitions from old paint. Like this- There is only one way to do that perfectly and I really dont want to have to do what that means I would have to do... 🤦‍♂️
    • Pretty sure the factory assembly doesn't have any gasket at all, just RTV.
    • I will get a couple cans for sure thanks, I do have 2lt fish oil to spray around the car already.
    • Thought I’d post pics of the packages for those interested. The premium package is #16. Remote start, security with tilt sensor and remote and backup battery, auto fold mirrors and door illumination.    Can post up pics of all the factory options and images from the factory options brochure if people are interested. I have all the dealer books etc for all rv37 models.
