Hey guys,

My antenna is pretty stuffed, it wont go down as there is a very slight bend in a few of the segments. I tried to bend it straight but it came close to snapping off so I stopped.

Does anyone know of a replacement solution, will a replacement mast (ive seen these available at like Super Cheap) fit? would one of those "universal motorised antennas" fit?

Maybe a wrecker would sell me one, anyone know a likely candidate to have this part?

Thanks

"f***en whoops!!" How much did nissan charge for that?

I have got prices ranging from $95+labour to fit a new mast to $125+labour for a new(secondhand) unit.

I am going to try a repair job myself using a "universal replacement mast/rope" and pull the unit out myself. It looks like something i could handle and might learn something at the cost of $19 part from Supercheap.

If not, ill chalk it up to experience and wear the $100++ cost...

Thanks for the replies

ummm, exactly happened to my R33 antenna.. ALL you have to do is go down to your local JB Hi-Fi and look for any universal electronic antenna should be around the $80 mark. this should fit fine.. it is quite easy to install.. unbolt to old one and bolt the new one in place!..

Sounds like a good idea. What about the cable that runs from the antenna to the radio? Do I have to run a new cable as well, or does it unplug from the motorised antenna end and plug into the new antenna?

This looks like the best plan so far.

Fixed it today. Cost a grand total of $26 in parts from SuperCheap Autos. The "AEPRO universal replacement mast and rope" model number AP12 worked perfectly. Lucky too because it was the only place i could find replacement masts and it was one of the only models they stock.

Bargain!
