Very easy to install, takes about 30 minutes - 45 minutes depends how fast you are, what do you mean by "will it tranish it all?" Its not gonna affect your lens. Yes replace bulbs, plug it together with the ballast, mount ballast, ground it, +12V and you're done. Cheers The ballast is a little device that makes it all work (kind of like a crossover with splits speakers), you need to mount it somewhere under the bonnet, prefferable where there isnt too much heat etc..
