since you are in gympie i could take it for a spin and see if it is the gearbox or just you. more than likely the box is a bit shagged tho. if it only does it from 1st to 2nd then it is more than likely the sychros. if it is every gear it could be low clutch fluid, damaged pivot bolt or fork, or just a shagged clutch.

probly about $1200 to fix at a guess. you will damage the syncro more but shouldnt damage anything else if u keep driving it, although it may be possible of chucks of metal break off. just dont use second where you can.

if you do get a new box though, or rebuild/fix this one, practice driving without the clutch before it gets done, can gain some good experience doing this, and its sorta like a way of driving without relying on syncros, but dont htink to deep into that without knowing how your gearbox works or it will just confuse you

fark the clutch, just rev it right up each gear and quick shift

but yea, sounds more to me like the clutch is not engaging fully. and you could actually try clutchless shifting to see if the clutch is the problem.

PS: you will probably get allot more crunching learning how to shift without a clutch though lol, i did. key is to just give the revs a nice blip and then slip it in.

EDIT: mybad didn't read the last reply

also you should know that under the new qld laws you can't legally drive this car untill you have your opens, so don't be supprised if you get booked.

yer it says if it is owned by a direct family member you can apply for a exeption. so i will get mi mum to make her own the car then ill be right by the book.

it is that if it is the ONLY family vehicle, or if it is an emergency, or if you have to drive it for work (if it is a company car).

so if your family has 2 cars then i doubt they will grant you permission.

plus you will have to display your p's, so pretty much every cop that sees you will pull you over.

besides, you are better of driving a shitter for the first few years, especially if you are going to go to uni.

    • I once hit my knee on an exhaust on my sisters Suzuki Sierra after she drove it her *normal* way. My knee looked like porridge for weeks. Bec and my daughters never go near this car. I can see one of my dogs losing an ear though. 🤔
    • Nice, love a good GTS-t.  IMHO the factory body kit with the 'aero' front bumper is perfect. Can't improve on it unless it's a GT-R. But it looks like you changed it to the normal bumper?

    • So I guess the next thing to do will be to discuss whether to create a new section of the forums to hold the library (boo hiss?), somewhat undoing the recent tidy up, or if there is a bolt on wiki module for Invision? (I must profess ignorance as to what has been done, what it might cost, etc. I have only briefly googled and seen discussion on adding it.) Or is a wiki even the best way to do what I'm talking about? It possibly isn't. Given that we're trying to re-display forum content, it probably needs to be presented as forum content in forum format, and a wiki would probably struggle with that. A wiki might still be the best way to do some other things, so I'll keep the idea simmering if we don't use it here. Back to the library as "part of the forums". Would we do a single new library? Or put a library thread in each section? Pluses and minuses for each of these, surely. Would we do as I originally suggested, and make the first post in the library be the total of the library, with any reply posts just being the inputs and suggestions I originally posited? Or would we allow posts to accumulate one after the other, each containing additions to the library? Maybe the first post is still an index or something. It's all sounding horribly more manual and messy than my original brain fart. But I hope there's some other good ideas floating around - because every time I come up with a new one of my own I immediately see problems with it.
