R33 Series 2, GTS-T Manual, stock apaprt from turbo back exhaust & k&n POD filter

ok, still hesitating/surging after 4500rpm, cant work out what it is, so far the following has been replaced (not neccisarily to fix this problem)

fuel pump, plugs, coil packs, fuel filter, timing belt, water pump, k&n filter, clutch, injectors cleaned, serviced, turbo back exhaust

it went on the dyno yesty and it showed no change in the air/fuel mixtures when it was surging,

so is it coil pack igniter module thingy? timing? ?????????

what heat range plugs?

what gaps?

coil packs new?

you haven't mentioned anything about the AFM.

i know the plugs are platinum ones, the gaps are right and the coil packs are new (splitfire)

i thought if the air flow meter was playing up it would of shown a change in the air/fuel mixtures when it was surging???

get rid of the platinum plugs. they are terrible.

get coppers (part number bcpr6es) or iridiums. if you get iridiums make sure they are gapped to 0.8mm and heat range 6.

ok they may be crap, but could they be actually causing the problem? especially this noticable.

slose gapped plugs shouldnt be required if you got new splitfire coils, should have ample spark to jump even the stock 1.1mm gap... look elsewhere for your problem, disconnect each coill pack via the plug and reconnect n go through the list as its running to varify which cylinder has the miss and work from there

I agree, its not like your running monster boost or anything. I would have thought stock gap would be fine, but if it isn't, mabye becuase of your exhaust, then I wouldn't really think that you'd need anything smaller than .08mm.

Hey guys

Just throwing this out there but could it be something to do with the CAS??

Yes, i was getting a bad miss on mine, tried a few things like coil packs, AFM, spark plugs, etc....

Got a CAS from another skyline and put it on mine, miss was gone. Grabbed a 2nd hand CAS and threw it on.

whats a CAS by the way? LOL

hi just throwing it out there.

i read on boostcruising that all skylines that rev towards the 5k range or reach the 10psi reigon suffer from flat spots. what they did was install a apexi safc, and it works perfectly now.

just throwing it out there. good luk
