Hks T04z Vs. Trust 78

hey everyone

who can tell me which turbo to get for a nissan s13 silvia

the motor is a rb26 head with rb30 bottom end (not built yet)

the rb26 cylinder head

*head ported

*in/ex hks 280 degree 10.2 lift camshafts

*jun titanium retainers

*hks valve springs suit camshaft

*standard valves, 3 way valve angle maybee 4?

*tomei solid lifters

*hks metallic gasket kit

*cometic head gasket

*tomei cam cap studs

*arp head studs

*standard throttle bodies and plenum

*hks 1000cc injectors

*hks 11.0mm fuel rail, sard regulator

*hks adjustable cam gears

*hks cast iron low mount

*hks 50mm wastegate

bottom end rb30

*rb26/30 cp pistons

*billet argo rods i beam

*acl race bearings

*arp main studs

*ross balancer tuff bond

*n1 water pump

*jun oil pump, crank collar

*high energy sump 8.5l

i am capping the car at 800hp i doubut i can get it from pump fuel? but want to see the car at the drag strip with race fuel and slicks......just to brag 9's...lol

is the trust t78 better? i hear t04z has little lag

most of my things are hks so i'm leaning towards the t04z.... The cars goning to be a drift car and street drag car

what is the most rwkw's from this turbo

are all rated at 800hp? why get a bigger wheel ar100 if the smaller 1 ar63 is same hp rating?

mainly drifting

it's going to be race prepped

cradle is going to be modified

with semi slicks

would the car just wheel spin, how about i turn the boost down for the streets?

If drifting is your main focus, neither of those turbos will be any good at all.

Too much lag and not enough response, peaky power delivery and poor throttle adjustability (important in a drift car!!!)

A few of the (expensive) parts/mods on your list would be over-kill for an RB30DET built to make a nice, responsive, 450 to 500hp- which would be more than enough in a light drift car like a silvia with the right suspension set-up.

I think you should look into it a bit more before going ahead with it.

I believe if anyone wants 800hp for drift and asking if you will get wheel spin thats a bit ignorant.

so cap it at 450hp - 500hp

would it have traction for the street?

and turn it up for when acting the fool....lol

is it possible to do this?

That's about the MAX you would want for a street car mate.

Like many have said, if you want a 'good' drift car, you're gonna need a responsive car.

But for which turbo to go ahead with? I would go the HKS T04z because it's newer technology?

hey

i got a hks cast iron low mount manifold

it has a t04 flange

and for the top it has a td flange 3 bolt for the wastegate instead put a turbo

my point is if i put a smaller trust td..... something (which one should i get)internal gate

and get a garett 3035r 700hp turbo d xr6 turbo also internally gated or smaller turbo?

then the car would spool up quick for drift and the big one would kick in later for drags

Hoenstly mate, i think you really really need to do a lot more reasearch.

Your ideas sound very up in the air, let alone the budget.

Running a 400rwkw+ car is going to cost you upwards of 20k without even sniffing.

Probably closer to 30-35k by the time you replace everything you break when you try to start using the power

Yeah mate I really think you need to go back and have a look at the basic shit before youre doing what youre talking about doing...

Takes a lot of commitment and huge amount of cash to have a car running an engine like that...

Why do you think you dont see them everywhere? For just that reason, most people dont have the money, dedication, nor want to live with the compromise.

And I assure you, if you think youll be driving 800hp round on the street, there WILL be compromises :D

motor sounds like an overkill for a drift spec s13.

GT3540 or something similiar would be fine, atleast it would gain a bit of response over those other massive turbos you mentioned....
