R33 Problem!

Recommended Posts

hey, my r33 gts (auto at the moment) is being weird. when i start it up when its cold and drive it pretty much straight away its REALLY slow in 1st gear, then when it changed to 2nd its normal. its like not enuff power is getting to the wheels or something. it doesnt rev up as quick as it wud if it was warmed up either. im guessing maybe fuel filter is jst really blocked. or fuel pumps out the window. it also has a weird idle problem, where it bounces quite violently between 700-1000 rpm when its cold, or when i go for a drive, then turn it off, then back on. it only does it for a few seconds so i dont think its a vaccum leak. any help would be great! thanks!

let the car warm up (5 or more mins) ???

:D

I use to be of the same opinion, but i have been advised otherwise by various people.

Let it warm for 20sec, then drive easily/slowly for 5-10mins

yer i usually do, just the odd time im in a hurry lol. when i warm it up its fine, no problems.

im thinking for the idle problem, maybe fuel filter? im changing that next week anyway. maybe fuel pump or filter for the other problem too? like not enough fuel getting to the engine quick enuff. or even the oils too heavy for the cold? i dont know. lol never heard of anything like this.

with breather filters. they connect straight on to the rocker cover ay? rb25de.

cheers guys

once you have started your car, let it warm for no longer than a minute. then drive it slowly untill the temp gauge is normal. Not a good idea to be booting/red lining it when cold!
