my gosh that is very sad...

i wouldnt call myself a 'street racer' but every noun an then i can get carried away (alot of you would be lying if you said you've never given it a squirt on the street)... just being honest. Anyway i see this as a big wake up call.

I realise it's a separate issue but the Drag Tag "sting" was invented - it never happened.

  • 1 year later...

Sure it would but does this give any wake up calls to Commodore drivers..?

  • 2 weeks later...

there was one in st marys a while back. (not sure if this WAS it but pretty sure...) but the red commodore's speedo froze at 175kmph. consider that after braking. =S

my dad has a silver vs commodore & after learning in that they have a f**kload of power but nothing to back it up. horrible steering, shit brakes & poo suspension. all they have is their engine which to be honest is just muscle anyway. you race one of those anything that gets in your way you're almost bound to hit. sure the engine is great for pulling that overweight body around but trying braking suddenly...

personally i hope the dickhead that was racing sees the image of that elderly couple the moments before & after impact in his mind forever & it haunts him till his grave.

alot of people these days i suppose find street racing more convenient, so they do it. i'm not backing it up as i think it's pretty dumb anyway but yeah the whole movies, look "cool", spontaneous racing, lack of planning would make the adrenalin rush. i dunno. never done it really so can't say.

[off topic] the funny thing is the best performing holdens are all powered by nissan & chevy engines =P love telling the hsv lovers that one ^^

^^^ Yeah, the so&so has pleaded guilty. At 37, he's old enough to know better.

Sentencing is pending. Hope he's remorseful and gets a life!

The elderly couple were active in their church and for charities, so we know where they've gone to.

It's the family and friends that they've left behind that I pray for (as well as the irresponsible dragster).

    • I would again like too thank Matt for his help in me sourcing the detachable hard top for the little red car, without Matt's assistance in inspecting it and locking it down, I can guarantee it would have sold before I could get up to see it,  and as that was the only available NC hardtop in Australia, I consider myself extremely lucky on multiple levels To say I'm more that happy would be an understatement And, it is 100% water tight, I drove through torrential rain coming back south, and by torrential, they type of rain that doing 40kph in a 110kph zone was a real thing, and even then, the standing water on the Hwy was deep enough to throw waves I'm also more than happy that the huge "BEASTS" that Matt calls dogs didn't eat me for lunch, I'm sure the sniffs and licks were more to "taste test" me, over being to friendly Now to work out what colour to get it painted, panel match, or gloss black........first world problems are real
    • Actually I might have figured out. Looks like there is a tab according to google images but it's hidden. Silly me.
    • No clips on this one like the other connector. Only that red tab that I can push slightly up.
    • For any loom connector that has an obvious release that resists pushing far enough to unclip, just spray some silicone lube into it. You might also benefit from using a bent screwdriver or small pick to push in the right place at the right angle.
    • Hey all, I went to try and fix my indicator not canceling, but I couldn't remove the clockspring cable under the column so I could twist that green thin. Anyone know how to remove this cable? I see this red tab but didn't have any luck. I was thinking of unscrewing it but wasn't sure if it would cause issues. I did notice for my indicator stalk, 2 out of 3 cables were plugged in but the last cable wouldn't fit in the stalk. I'm getting it's for fog lights. It was like this when I originally pulled it off.
