Manual Boost Controller

I was thinking of putting one of those Turbotech numbers on car (S2 Stagea) and was wondring if I ever got into an accident, should I remove it for insurance purposes? Am I legally allowed to have a boost controller on the car. No other mods apart from hi flow panel filter.

As for insurance, its totally dependant on the policy mate.

You'll have to read it as they are different company to company

most policies will have no issues with mods if they are legal and LISTED ON THE POLICY.

Located in SA. Was going to call them (the insurance co) but thought i'd check first. I'm pretty sure i'm allowed unlimited mods (age and max ncb) as long as deemed "legal".

i'd tell the insurance company you have fitted it. that way you should be safe from that point of view.

also you can be defected for having anything which changes performance and hence emissions, so boost controllers are on the list of defects (in nsw at least)

i'm pretty sure they are on the list in QLD too, i would let your insurance company know, if they dont like it then buy a new wastegate that is made for the amount of boost you want, i dont think an insurance company would go to the lengths to test the wastegate

I dont think they are legal at all because they can vent engine emissions directly to the air

I got defected for having an adj boost controller in the cabin (along with a few other things ) I asked if it was legal in the engine bay and was told it was.... (qld)

the actuator pipe(hose) is best @ short as possible for more response i have read??? so did you run hoses to the inside?
