The problem is caused by the harmonic balancer. Despite the car being a R33, you have a R32 balancer on there.

Only real difference is a fatter lip seperating the p/s drive pulley from alt and a/c drive pulleys, making the 32 p/s drive pulley sit forward compared to 33.

So, just space the pulley on the p/s pump forward a little, until it lines up correctly.

the car is a complete and untouched series 3, so I am skeptical that it has an R32 RB26 Harmonic balancer.

Down at the workshop today I was comparing it to an R32 RB26 engine which was out of the car, and the balancer looks slightly different.

I also looked at 2 other R32 GT-R engines and both had differently shaped power steering pully's compared to each other :D

As the start of the pully sits inside of a sleeve on the P/S pump, i'm getting some billet alluminium machined up to space it, instead of using washers.

Ill let you know how I go.
