Also Newton in Scotsman's car, 1:20.5 is very impressive mate, the boy's got talent....

Cheers..

Try 1:19.3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He knows how to carry a car when its not behaving its best

Hats off to Lowthy...drive of the day with a 1:24 in an EVO with an exhaust and a set of semis! Fark me, why bother with a Nissan ?

The poor old tin can of mine needs suspension oh so badly...have patience Juz, we will get it sorted before the end of the month....and new tyres too. Actually i liked sitting back and watching the car out there. So much more relaxing then getting out there and ringing its neck when i normally get back to the pits with the shakes :D

Also cool to see all the Dattos out there...surprised to hear that Troys car on;y had 130rwkws as it seemed to mum down the front straight, also hope the Corona and Datto are ok

Well since my last little no brake episode at the most recent sandown day my little 1600 has seen a few things upgraded - rear cv joints, adjustable rear coilovers, made a high mount turbo manifold (pending turbo) and put some rear disks. i took it easy while learning how it handles and brakes differently and once i got a bit more confident started to brake a little later at the end of the back straight, which revealed that my brake bias was way too strong on the rear and it locked up and promptly threw me into the wall at probably 120ish kmph. i am damn lucky it was a glance but the high speed meant that my dat has seen much better days. i'll post pics tomorrow :D

LOL...i think Snowy beat him by a solid 0.02seconds or thereabouts

...and good footage Jack. But what happened to the Stig...LOL it looks like you were driving ANGRY today  But parkign it on the 1:18s all day. Fark me that take a lot of committment

Well what a day!!! Was out to get 1:18 and did my best time in the first session... But bad luck struck in the third session, I munched 5th gear (again!!)..

Oh well, I got my consistent high 1:18's but dissapointed I couldn't go for low 18's...

Well done to Snowy in joining the 'Sandown Teen Club', must be pleased with the time and finally finish a track day with no issues!!!!!

Great job guy's!! :laugh:My Video today

post-12111-1187530363_thumb.jpgNow I know why SMAUG breathes flames!

As usual I had a ball out there :)

Big thanks to all the flaggies and volunteers

Despite earlier claims that I doubt I could get any more out of the car in its current form I managed to drop another 1/2 a sec to a flat 1:24 to keep ahead of matty's pesky EVO :) Congrats to all the guys posting PB's and hope those who had dramas get things sorted without too much hassle.

I ran a 1.19.32. Handbags ran a 1.19.37. As my friend Vin says "It doesn't matter if you win by an inch or a mile...." :)

Scotsman only ran a 1.21.something as he was caving under the pressure.

But it is almost 12 months to the day that I put a rod through my block so to finally have the car back and running perfect just feels so fantastic. In fact really it was Calder October 2005 that I had my last trouble free track day so I'm just really stoked to have a good car back - and being just 2 weeks away from Dutton it couldn't come at a better time.

And thinking back to 2005 when I last had a decent run at Sandown (and did a best time of 1.22.2) I never really thought I'd ever be a proud member of.....

Time to get some new stickers made :)

Bigbird and i had a great day today. Car didnt miss a beat. Just needs more power!!! We are losing so much time down those damn straights going nowhere! Thats what we will fix this week...

what times were you doing, were you quicker than that tall bloke (and does he fit in the car now?)

yep you definately need some hp to haul up that hill on the back straight... sandown neeeeds powerrrrrr clarkson style

Bloody hell Jack - what rpm do you change at?

Looking at your video you shift into 5th down the main straight where I only get to around 8,200rpm in fourth and on the back straight I don't grab 5th until about 200m before the kink where as you are WAY earlier than me.

Yeah, he was quicker than me all day. But i was happy with a 1.32. I only did two or three sessions out there so i was very happy with my time, and only 3 seconds off the pace of the owner. Oh and no i dont fit in the car all that well, dutton will be intresting.

I fell victim to the problem experienced by others with the Extreme clutch falling apart. It completely broke and there is simply no connection from the gearbox to the engine. Spewing too. Yesterday was going to be the day to finally get one back on Jack. Like every other track day this year, he's beaten me by a handfull of tenths.

Good to see another two GTRs in the club now running under the 1.20 mark other than the extreme JFK, Marcov machines. The competition is stepping and is pretty tight. Just glad the one lap I did was enough to take down SNOWMAN !!!! :D

Don't worry Aaron - I'm lookoing forwards to a few more days under my belt so I can get the confidence to have a crack at you two. Phillip Island should be fun as I like that place :D

I know what you mean, it happened to me under brakes going into third on the front straight at Calder late last year. Thank god for the drag run off.....
