Auto's have to be THE most boring things to drive!

You have such a better control over the vehicle..

Jumped into my mum's auto pulsar.. and almost smaked my head on the steering when when I tryed to heel and toe down by second nature

we have 2 r33 in our family mine and my sons mines a auto and i love it . it dosent get beat off the lights by much and many time's have left manual skylines with the same amount of mods sitting there scrabbling for traction while the auto just sqauts down and goes .

plus you have the benifit of driving it thru the gears if you wish . some of the manuals with puck clutches ect ect are a real pain to drive in the city .

My V35 is an auto (tiptronic), and I'm very happy with it. Very very nice gearbox, especially in manual mode.

The upshifts are very crisp, and on the downshift it has rev matching (kind of like blipping the throttle when down shifting in a manual)

The car is a daily driver in sydney traffic, which is why i went auto.

However, if I was planning engine mods (not worth it in a N/A car), and to track the car, I'd want nothing but manual.

I have a built C4 (Ford) auto in my Skyline & I must say it's the best of both worlds as it's fully manualised - you have to change gears (3 speed) as there is no D for drive. I guess there are some slight disadvantages over it compared to the control of a vehicle you have with a manual but I think they are outweighed by the advantages over this style of gearbox ie. no clutch hassles (driving or replacing), is super-quick off the mark, is suitable both on the street or drag-strip & has not let me down yet - have not had to spend a cent on replacing anything as it can handle 800hp - in the 2 years I have had it built.

By far the built auto is the ultimate gearbox - in my opinion. But I guess for my use - street & drag - it makes sense. If others are more into track or drifting then definitely manual would be the go. Like anything everyone has there own personal preference.
