if theyre extremely modified then u register them in Sharjah....but ive seen PLENTY of skylines reg in Dubai and test drove a few.

I have also lived in Dubai for a few years now.

There is NO japanese performance scene here, only minor european modifications.

I have been to all the Emirates in the UAE searching for some signs of a car scene with no luck.

All there is to do here is work/eat and shop, with the occasional night club.

Dubai is a place full of pretenders and wannabees.

Trust me, I have worked for government and commercial sectors.

There was a Japanese car scene, but then again it only happened because the cars were cheap, nowadays the only Japanese cars that are modified are 4x4's and the occasional 350Z.

There was.

I think the main problem you will face compared to Australia is finding somwhere to live that you can have a proper garage with a set of tools etc.

90% of residence here is Apartments with shared basement parking.

You can however get yourself a nice villa in Dubai but you are going to have to pay premium.

Unless you move further out to Sharjah, but traffic from Sharjah to work everyday would drive you absolutely insane!

also, might have to pay a bit in Salik as well..Sharjah/Garhoud Bridge/Maktoum Bridge traffic SUCKS every day....im glad im living in the opposite direction of traffic (near IBN Battuta Mall)

oh and yeah good luck finding a place with a garage - i live in the Gardens..i got a 3 bedroom and im pretty lucky wit hthat....finding housing is ridiculous..

Dude some of the top secret GTRs have Sharjah plates...pretty sure i know what im on about.
