Hey guys i have the chance to get a link ECU pretty cheap

What i need to know is:

Is it a good ECU?

Who tunes them in sydney?

What are the costs involved in tuning them in sydney?

I need to know whether to hang on to my safc II or sell it and buy the link.

What do you guys think?

Thanks

Mike

horrible, you'll hate it....now what model Link ecu, how much and where? (im thinking of updating my Link ECU)

seriously, i think it is as good as the guy doing the tuning.

the scope of support for Link's is limited here in Brisvegas, MRT would be one starting point in sydney as they sell the Links.....

Hi mate, my car has a Link ECU & is currently at CRD Croydon being tuned & a few other things done, also i had it tuned at SAS Silverwater Automotive Services earlier this year..

I havnt had any problems with this ecu & its been in use for 3years now, this ecu also doesnt run a airflow meter its just not that popular...

Hope that helps..

thanks guys i will make a few phone calls tommorrow and see roughly how much it will cost me to tune........it has already been tuned on an r33 but with a whole bunch more mods than my one. don't know if that will aid my cause at all

another thing.....i heard that with the link you need to advance the CAS all the way.....this doesn't seem right to me......any input?

lol phrase........if i change my mind i will let you know first........

Cheers

Im running a link.

really good ecu's they use no afm, easy to tune, good cold starts on them starts like factory ecu...i dont really get the best fuel economy though around town driving bout 200kms to $50 fuel..making around 210rwkw..personally i wouldnt touch a pfc i think link are better anyway.

yeah i wouldnt touch a pfc, i had one b4 the link and sold it, same car similiar mods but smaller turbo and same tuner he gets 180km to a tank of ultimate, could be the tuner he normally tunes safe and doesnt care about power figures to make customer happy but makes sure it will last...but yeah

  • 1 month later...

Ok so i bought the link. installed it and road tuned it using a wideband.......must say i am really impressed with the ease of tuning. the only thing it lacks is tuning zones.....there just aren't enough of em..

But seriously now the power FC is discontinued it wouldn't be a bad option to look into in my opinion anyway.
