Hey guys just wanted to see what sort of Km people were getting out of R33 GTRs, just regular driving, obviously they will chew if you plant it. how big is ther tank??? I do a fair bit of driving and just wanted to see if driven responibly if you can get good returns from the RB26. I would like to get an aftermarket computer for a proper tune so any results would be great.

cheers

Hi, An R32 GTR tank hold 72lts, Driving steady I get about 500ks when the warning light comes on. Power FC, big exhaust, about 12lb boost.

well, i'm pretty sure the fuel tank is 65 litres, however some sites say 72 litres. not sure which is correct, but so far i've got about 320km out of my first tank.. but i don't know if my car has a fuel warning light when it gets low or if it works, so there was still quite a bit of fuel left when i filled it up.

From what the previous owner said, it's typical to get about 350km max driving in the city, 450 on highway. you may get more if you're travelling at a constant 100km/h from like NSW to VIC or something.

If you start putting aftermarket computers on and modifing stuff, this will probably make fuel economy worse.

And of course if you really fang it... good luck

Whoa. that's pretty good. Where abouts is the needle at when the light first comes on? Above or below the empty mark?

My fuel gauge was just a tad below the E and I thought i'd better fill up just in case.. but i'm pretty sure i put in less than 60 litres to fill it up again.

hey all,

not sure if its the same on gtr's and gtst but when the fuel light comes on isnt there still 15 or so litres left?

anyone with the know-how want to give further insight and confirm or deny this?

personally i get paranoid when the light comes and on and i aim to find the closest BP or mobil to fill up.

sorry for hijacking your thread

cheers in advance,

kind regards, :(

^^^ Thats true. I normally get about 350-400k's of general driving on about 45L of fuel. I ran it down to till the empty light came on last weekend and filled it up from there and put in 55L so If the light comes on when there's 10L left that would make sense as to it having a 65L tank.....If you are getting shit fuel economy I would question your tune before anything else, obviously some tunes are also gonna be more biased towards power than fuel economy so perhaps this is something to talk to your tuner about.

  • 2 weeks later...

65lt??? well i filled mine up, and unless i have a special tank... its a 75lt tank.

I get around 550-600km a tank BUT thats runnin 5.1psi boost (dont ask...) exhaust and twin filters thats it

btw its a r32 gtr

    • Hey, guys, I’m hoping I can find answer here. I have already done some searching and asking around but still nothing.    I fitted an IC7 dash in my R32 GTR, and I got everything displaying on the dash except my high beams. I get input voltage and the high beams displaying in the dash when I pull the lever, but not when I fully engage the high beams. I spliced into the Red/Blue Beam+ wire in the black center connector from the cluster, but there is also a black Beam wire I think I need to use as well. The high beams still work. It’s just a matter of getting it to display on the dash.    Has anyone fully wired in their IC7 properly ? I would appreciate any guidance on this.    IMG_8835.mov
    • I buy my wheel cleaner in 4 litre bottles now. Euro brakes are brutal
    • Sounds like it may all just be some baseless outrage stoked by the carexplore guy? As in the linked social media outrage on facebook just goes back to carexplore as a source again. Further shown by the council response that nothing actually has changed: "The Private Land Use Permit has been part of the Casey Community Local Law for a number of years. It's important to clarify that this permit is not new, and no changes have been made to the permit or the Local Law in relation to the permit." The full council response in Prank's link sounds reasonable to me. Saying that as someone who neither lives there nor has a front yard to call their own
    • Clutch hydraulics are also all good, looks like a brand new slave cylinder and everything bled up well. No idea what the actual clutch is, and I don't intend to pull the box off on the floor to find out, so unless we have trouble on the dyno or at shakedown that will remain a mystery for the new owner
    • Front brakes are G4 8 pot calipers over 330mm discs with braided lines. Everything looks good, pretty sure these are off my old 350. Pads are brand new and judging from gold colour are Winmax which is what I also run on my race car, Neil and I both sourced brake stuff from Matty at Racebrakes Sydney who really knows his stuff Everything has bled up nicely with all new Motul RBF600 fluid, there were 2 loose hard line connections and the calipers were new on the car so I ended up doing it 3 times but it is perfect now
