I think your best option is to do a retrofit. You would need a pair of projectors, pair of ballast and a pair of HID globes. People usually go for the largest projector they can fit in the housing. I would say your best to visit hidplanet.com for more information.

Doing a retrofit of some sort on your headlights will be illegal, but I highly doubt a police officer will defect you for them. Retrofits don't usually glare too much if you're using good quality lens and globes.

The 'normal' projectors are usually only low beam where as bi-xenon are high and low beam in the one projector.

And yeah, try to get your hands on some honda euro projectors and get some genuine philip branded ballasts and globes.

Cheers

I'm not too sure, but I think it was 2.5" or 3". Best to go hidplanet.com. They use these projectors quite a lot. The american name for them would be 'tsx' projectors or 'tl'. One of them is bi-xenon and the other is just low beam. Shouldn't be too hard to find out which one it is.

They're called 'tl' projectors. Just do a quick search on hidplanet.com and it should give you a pinned thread of the sizes of common projectors used. S2000 projectors, BMW projectors etc.

did you mean search on hidplanet forum or a web site?

on website there are only porsche and RS6 or s6...

found s2000 projector on US ebay

ive got a dimension from seller but...

which dimension should i have to consider to know whether its going to fit on my R34???

just lens dimension? or full braket?

the seller gave me this:

Honda S2000

Height: 105.60mm

Diameter = 71.70mm

Width Trimmed from the stock bracket= 113.50mm

Length = 135.30mm

Length(seat of the lens to mounting holes) = 41.40mm

Length(mounting holes to end of bulb) = 93.90mm

cheers

paul

Yeah, sorry, I meant search on the hidplanet.com forum.

The main thing would be to get a lens which would still fit in the stock headlight housing. And for the brakets, I'm not too sure mate. :thumbsup: Best to do some research on the hidplanet.com forum. See what others are doing and apply your knowledge. :rolleyes:

I think there should also be a write up on how to retrofit hids into the r32 headlight. I'll try and find the thread for you. It's on sau somewhere.

yes i found that thread and read.. but its R32.. mine is r34... so not sure i can do myself..

need someone else who can do it and has some warranty for moisture inside of headlight....

do you know anyone do this installation?

cheers~

Nah I don't mate. I haven't heard of anyone in Aus being able to do it (as a job). I think it's best to do it yourself. Try reading on hidplanet.com forum a bit more to see if you can work it out. From what I've seen on that site, you'll be pretty satisfied with the outcome.

I want to do a retrofit one day, just not on the skyline.

Goodluck with it though mate.

No worries.

I see you're after a set of genuine hid lamps now. I think someone said it was about $800 for a set off yahooauctions. I think it'll be best to attack the compliance people who took them out in the first place. :P

They'll be in Aussie somewhere. If you bought your car from a import car dealer, chances are they took them out. Not too sure if you'll be able to get the lights off them though, but good luck.

    • Hello everyone, I am from Malta and have recently bought myself a fully stock 1992 Nissan Skyline GTS. It has the RB20DE engine and thus is NA. Unfortunately, not a lot of information can be found online related to the GTS, unlike the information for GTS-T and GTR variants. Apart of the Skyline, I also got a 1984 Porsche 924 2.0l NA and a 2002 Renault Clio 1.5DCi for everyday use. Excited to be apart of the community and perhaps get better information on cars such as the GTS.
    • The fuel pump bracket just slides straight up.  Below is a pic I stole off a site. But basically put hand in for fuel pump, wiggle it all about a bit while pulling up.
    • Went digging Duncan, there's another "item" that sits down under the plenum that the second pipe from the IACV goes down to. I believe that's the one that is apart of the cold start portion, and it then comes back up under the middle of the factory top plenum. I believe you will find it is unneeded on the forward facing plenum on Cheryl.   I just went digging further for some pics on the location of the one way check valve, and found something that confirms my thoughts from the first half of this point. I feel you can just block off that port that is coming down.     I can also confirm, the other line that you were thinking for vacuum that will just need a one way valve put into Cheryl is 100% correct too. The one way valve is normally screwed into the back of the factory inlet plenum.
