Hi guys, I've been doing some research on these 2 cars, but just wanna hear from what you guys think (if you guys have been in a Accord Euro) on which is a more prefered car. I know they are both are different types of cars but anyone heard like any good new or bad news on a Euro before? Has anyone actually decided in having to pick one of these! Any opinions would be appreciated! thanks!

They're 2 completely different cars mate. If you want a neat, comfortable family/business car then get the Euro. If you like mountain runs, drag, circuit, speed then get the R33 GTR. My dad has a nice Euro Luxury that's been serving him well for a few years but i'd still take the R33.

this is kind of like asking whether you want soup of pizza for tea. they are 2 completely different cars. it really comes down to what you want. if you want performance then go the gtr, if you want a reliable daily driver that is very comfy and is 'zippy' then go the honda. if you want something that you can waste people in the traffic light grand prix then go the gtr. if you drive over rough roads and hate rough rides go the honda.

just remember that the honda is fwd, so if you have never driven a fwd with a bit of power in the wet then don't boot it halfway through a corner and expect it to keep turning as sharply as it was, and don't try to pull out into that small gap in traffic in the wet either cause you will just sit on the spot and spin. i have a magna, so i know all about understeer and wheelspin when trying to beat traffic.

i work at a honda dealership and have for the lasty 3 1/2 years and i cannot say a bad word about the euro's. They are a very reliable car. But like everyone else has said it depends what you want the car for because they are both completely different

 yeah I know they are both completely different cars but I just wanted to know if anyone had to pick between both of these which one they chose.

I mean if I had to pick I dont mind any but has anyone heard anything bad about the euros? I've checked on the forums of ozhonda and yet i see nothing bad or anything of the euro. I'm happy with a 4 door family car and happy to continue the skylines with all-wheel drive twin turbo powered car drooolll... :O

edit: I like em both and my fiance and I are deciding to buy one of these later down the year.

my parents have an accord euro, they are pretty nice cars. but the gearbox in it is pretty shit in my opinion. 1st gear revs out heaps quick and is hard getting used to driving it from a stand still (hill starts etc) not sure if its just our euro or if its all euros tho? i had a r33 gtst that was pretty modded and i loved it, regret selling it now. got a wrx now and i think its a heap of shit. ill be going to another nissan in about 6 months to a year. im thinking r33 gtr, s15, r34 gtt. not definate wat to get tho. i love all of them and best bet is to go drive the cars your thinking about buying and go from there. if u think about it, ur buying a brand new car vs a early model car. drive both and decide what you like to drive under daily usage.

something you also have to take into account is general running costs. the honda won't be too bad cause it should be light on fuel, you don't have to run premium, insurance should be cheaper, etc.

also if you go the honda you are less likely to get the modification bug, as there is little you can do to really get them going. and the mods you do don't really require other mods, unlike a gtr if you go bigger turbos then you really need to go aftermarket ecu, etc and it is just a trickle down effect. 1 mod leads to another mod needed to be made, etc.

Supra :laughing-smiley-014:

i will go for GTR33

well yea if you drive it everyday why buy gtr33,do you really want to race in every traffic lights? especially when you are started a family, i think the euro is more convenient.. about the euro though, heaps of my friend got accord euro, you really cant say bad thing about it... and if you want the more luxury one, go for the other accord (not euro)..

    • Hi Rob It's a nistune ecu. Yes same shop, good reputation. Apparently the computer on the dyno is compensated for temperature.    Chris was saying that the lean or richness of the mixture would be covered in the actual tune, but he's already picking up in advance that it's under what it should be. Regards the dyno, it's also noticeable on the road. But I just want to add something that has just come in, it appears there might be something in the setup of the external wastegate. In the exhaust manifold there is a centre divider between the front three and rear three cylinders. The external wastegate has a pipe from each side that join at the wastegate. Theory is those two pipes just might be pypassing that divider and introducing a problem somehow. Is anyone familiar with the divider in the exhaust manifold and the effects if the two wastegate pipes were to create a bypass path? Thanks for your questions Rob, interested in your thoughts on this external wastegate bypass theory. Regards Rob
    • Meh, At 60 years old, I have been doing dumb stuff for much longer than you mate, I am the true King And unfortunately I cannot be a maroon, as I am not brownish red As for not getting ITB's, the plenum intake will apparently show typical gains across the board and increase induction noise a bit, but, have all over less dort than ITB's Cost difference for the extra ITB dorts was significant though, the total parts for the plenum set up is "around" $2kAUD plus shipping, the ITB's were $4kAUD plus shipping, I was contemplating really hard about paying the extra $2k for all of the dorts, but weirdly, some form of common sense, from listening to the platform experts prevailed  As for the NA mod hate by some, I've had a few boosted cars, with all their inherent issues, I'm now looking at simplicity and legalities for a street car, maybe I'm just getting old, and I'm quite happy to spend some of the kids inheritance, 5kw at a time 🤣 And think of all the money I'll be saving on consumables that something with boost needs, like engines, gearboxes, diffs, clutches,  tilt trays... etc. etc. etc. 🤪
    • Haha.  I wouldn't say I am either but I've definitely been around it plenty.  I'm guessing you know the dial in is basically to make a handicap to level the playing field between racers.  The car with the slower dial in goes first and in theory if they run their dial in time and the faster car also does then they cross the finish time if they also have exactly the same reaction time - if you go faster than the dial in them you lose, but if you are too slow there's a good chance the other person will get to the finish line first. I'm normally supporting other cars but they were all pretty dialled and were egging me on to race as well, here's one of the cars I tune (Starlet) which ran within like 1 hundredth of its dial in through the competition: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=inEBu-d9Gn4&t=69s
    • Where ever the fuel reg gets it reference is what I use to T into for map reference been a very long time so where it goes to plenum/runners I have no idea but never had issues.
    • What ecu? Same shop every time? Same ambient temperature? If timing is correct then pull plugs and see if lean or rich. Dyno can also read different if they have changed ramp rate or not set tacho/speed properly
