Hey guys,

Just wondering who has made the choice to move from their GTSt/GTt's to the V35?

What made you do it?

Besides being a much newer car, how did you go about the power of the car?

Does it handle differently? better? worse?

Who has tracked theirs?

sorry for the questions, the thought of upgrading has crossed my mind a few times lately!

Any thoughts or comments are welcome!

Cheers,

Chris

I haven't made the jump but I've driven my brothers old one fairly hard so I can compare to my mildly modded R33 GTS-T..

First of all, it's about as powerful as my R33 was. Being NA, you get smooth power delivery right from the get-go so I preferred it more to the turbo set up.

Handling wise, it was a bit of a boat but I guess you could always make suspension mods to make it handle better. Personally if I got a V35 it'd be a cruiser and not a track-ish car. The car is meant for luxury with decent handling... you chuck on a suspension setup and your ride is going to be harsher, which is not really what the car was about.

Same way I feel about Toyota Soarers - don't know why people go about trying to make them track/drag cars when the car's meant to be a luxury coupe.

If you want a track car, get the Z33. If you want a cruisy car, get the V35.

Cheers James!

The kinda post I was after!

Anyone got any experiences with both?

Id love a 350Z - but the v35's seem to be alot cheaper!

I love my V35 compared to the R34

Better in every way in my opinion.

Took it to a track day and on cheapie compliance tyres was around 1 sec per lap off the times being posted by modified 32GTRs .

Pretty quick for a boat

Might have matched them on my last run if a EVO had not got in my way.

They are a deceptivly fast car and maintained consistent times lap after lap with brembos not even getting weak compared to my R33's and R34 brakes.

Of course I've gon and fitted a HKS S/C since then and the car is quicker in a straight line than my stock 32GTR

i upgraded from an R32 GTSt to my V35 350GT about 2 months ago..

why?

well i decided that i no longer wanted a car that every 18yo hoon drives. that and i hate the fact that i duck whenever a drive past a cop car. the yelling from my neighbours about the noise at 7am didn't help and this was just when i was idling in the garage..

so i wanted a more sophisticated car that suited the fact that i will be a doctor in 2 years.. looked at BMW/mercedes but they are overpriced and underpowered. the V35 has gotten excellent reviews and for its age, the price is amazing. search google for reviews on the G35 in the USA

i think the coupe looks amazing from all angles. some like it, some don't. again, most with R32/R33/R34's don;t like it - and this is what draws me to it! i like the fact that its not for younger drivers and more of a sophisticated ride.

the car is quicker in a straight line than my GTSt and handles very well. probably not as sharp in the twisties as my R32 but hey it had bilstein suspension so it wasn't exactly stock

the best thing is that it has heaps of comforts and is very luxurious inside. if i had to re-think it all over again, i would not hesitate to get another V35.

the best motoring decision i have made. ever.

Waz,

you do make some good/valid points there!

Im the same where, 33gtst's are everywhere and p platers have them.

and ducking from cops also is starting to become alot common even though I dont drive like a tool

decisions decisions :P

I love the shapes of the v35s.

A friend of mine/mechanic/ owns a v35 with every option possible.. Including brembos, blisteins etc etc.. (hes selling it too if you interested-pm me)

He says its as quick as a slightly modded 33.

But the v35 is more of a luxury car to be honest. Leather seats, cameras front and rear (depending on model offcourse)

but yea wouldnt mind upgrading to a v35. .But thats like 30k.. so i cant afford that anytime soon lol

Just wondering who has made the choice to move from their GTSt/GTt's to the V35? Z31 to an R33 to a 350Z

What made you do it? Cos (and im probably going to get flamed) I've always loved the Zeds more.

Besides being a much newer car, how did you go about the power of the car? Its a little boring being non turbo but im slowly getting into being ricey with bling instead.

Does it handle differently? better? worse? its 15 years younger of course it handles better!

Who has tracked theirs? Drag and Motorkhana .... not as fast as the Skyline but just as fun.

sorry for the questions, the thought of upgrading has crossed my mind a few times lately! - You can't be buried with your money so you might as well waste it on cars.
