have found a small leak from my water pump so believe it's time for a change.

did a bit of a search. some people are saying timing covers and belts, the whole shebang. others are saying you can remove the pump without doing the rest of the stuff.

engine rebuilt about 50,000km ago. does get driven hard often. any ideas. would prefer maybe just replacing pump and all belts (not the timing belt). any thoughts and ideas?

cheers fellas,

craig

99% sure that the lower bolts on the water pump are covered by the lower timing belt cover.

the lower cover cannot be removed without removing the harmonic balancer.

so most of the belts need to come off anyway .. you could leave the timing belt on once verything else is removed if your careful not to smudge the gasket goo on the new pump as you install it
