New Toyota Camry Engine.. Please help

Hi There,

I know this is not a skyline but wanted to see if anyone can help me out...

My parents have a Toyota Camry (Ultima) 1991 4cyl 2.2ltr Auto.

The engine decided to give up (only has 140K's on the clock).

They are up for a new engine/reconditioned. the quotes they are getting are around the $3500 mark.

Does anyone know where I can go or who to speak to about this? Is this a good price or should it be less?

I would have thought it would be less than that. My friend bought a 90 model 4 Cyl camry sedan for $3k for the whole car! It has 200k klms on the clock and still going strong.
