I have read up some threads and seems like the r34gtr's do not have a boost restrictor like how r33 and r32gtr's have on them. Going less than 100% throttle few days ago, I have already boosted up to 1 bar. Does anyone know what is the maximum amount of boost that the r34gtr will boost up to? Since there is no boost restrictor.

The car is completely stock, no ebc or bleed valve installed and have stock actuators. While the general crowd seems to be saying that 1 bar on a r34gtr seems to be still within the safe limits, and people have been running them for quite some time without any problems. I rather be safe than sorry, I would prefer to max it at 0.9 bar. Besides a EBC, are there any other methods I can restrict it to 0.9 bar? Thanks

Cheers

Hey,

I was lucky enough to be taken for a drive in a fairly stocking R34 GTR a few months back. Only mods were cat back exhaust and pods. He was boosting to 1.2 BAR and everything was fine.

Hope this helps.

Thanks.

Thanks beagle, it does assure me that I am in the safe area.

Just that being nissan, even when everything is stock, it has known to cause damage to the turbo or engine. I was just curious, not that i have a problem with it being standard.

As most people on the forum are suggesting that 12psi seems to be the safety threshold for most standard turbos should be running and anything above is a gamle, and 1 bar is 14.7 psi , i was just wondering earlier if thats okay.

also to note the R34s have different turbochargers, notably the compressors are 0.53a/r instead of 0.42a/r so the airflow comparison is not the same and they probably have different technology in them

No form of boost control (EBC or bleed) will drop the boost pressure below that of the factory setting. Don't worry about it and get back to enjoying something a lot of Skyline owners wish they were doing right now :P

With the current standard cat, another extra rear muffler on a nismo jasma exhaust its already up to 1 bar, if i de-cat it and take off the rear muffler or silencer, would that be near 1.1bar ? Any experiences from 34gtr owners ? If thats the case, i have to stick to the quiet exhaust?
