Just a disclaimer...RB25s in a R32 are good things. I recognise this and i dont believe that the RB20 is a better basis for anything serious or somehting that is to be used in competition where tenths of a second per km hurt you (hill climbs etc etc)

But for somehting you want to spend 5k on and go fast. Well 5k on an RB20 will make for a faster R32 GTSt with a 5k std RB25 transplant. But throw a turbo setup on an RB25 in an R32 and you are laughing :D

But still RB20s are the most unloved Nissan motor. I dare say CA18s have a bigger fanbase, its really a shame as its clearly a good motor in its own right

last time i checked an rb30e water pump wasn't $250! last time i bought one they were like 35-40 bux.

rb25 for the win. plenty of power with just zorst, fmic and 10psi. Reliable as all f*k.

conversion to my 31 for 5 years had rb25det, cained the kent outta it. purred like a kitten the day i got rid of it. 205rwkw with cooler, zorst and 10psi wid piggy

Firstly, thanks for all the help and suggestions.

I had initially expected the worst, this being, the exhaust cam had shattered inside the head needing a rebuild, however this was no the case. The tip of the CAM, which connects to the CAS has snapped off but the rest had remained in tact.

Thanks to the champs at Boostworx, we replace the Exhaust CAM, CAS, and while we were at it got the bulk of the major service out the way. Tensioner/Idler, waterpump, most belts etc.

Was extremely pleased with the quality of work and service. All work came in under expected cost.

So for the time being the car is purring like only an RB can.
