Shock And Spring Question

Hi all

im in the market to get new shocks and springs for my R33. iv been thinking of coilovers but i hear the cheap ones on the market are crap and im not looking to spend 2000-2500k on decent coilovers. so now im thinking of going for a decent shock and spring combo and dont know where to start.. does any1 know which springs and shocks i should be looking at?? monroe?kings? etc any help appreciated.
