Front Brake Upgrade?

Whats the difference between the 300zx calipers and the s14 4 piston calipers. Ive got the chance to get either but i dont know which will be better suited?

S14 are cast, 300zx are alloy.

Besides the weight, I don't think there is any other difference.

Alloy is better at disposing heat.

just make sure u check the 300zx callipers as the ones that came for the Na version are only for a 26mm disc where as the turbo are the for the 30mm disc same as the r32gtst. S14 are cast iron and a slightly different shap but do the same job.

300zx na calipers are about 31mm width where the rotor sits and the turbo are about 35mm

Thanks i ended up getting the s14 calipers as they were cheaper and came with discs

Make sure you get yourself an upgraded master cylinder, otherwise you will have a long brake pedal.

Look for a BM44 should be off a r32 skyline gtst. This will also make it a very easy to install as all the metal lines are in the exact same spot, so it is a bolt in upgrade.

All you need is the master cylinder, not the whole brake booster/master (as I thought when I did mine whoops).

Just the two bolts to hold it on to the front of the booster.

Also, make sure you don't put the calipers on upside down, (ie right hand side caliper on the left hand side hub, and vice versa)
