Hi,

was wondering if a HKS cast mid/low mount exhaust manifold with 40mm esternal gate are suitable for garrett turbos- just wondering that only HKS turbos would bolt- can u bolt say a GT3040 or GT3076 etc.

would a garrett turbo bolt on in a similar position to standard manfiold cause it says mid/low mount and do u think there are modifcations that needs to be done to engine bay besdies dump pipe etc.

thanks

john

You can mount anything with a t3 flanged turbine housing inlet, or even T4 if you get a manifold with the studs drilled to suit.

With r32 mounts and crossmember you can fit up to a .7 compressor cover with 4 inch inlet with some minor mods to the engine mount and cross member to clear the comp cover.

The turbo is mounted nowhere near the stock location. It's a true low mount as opposed to the factory side mount, so you need all custom hot side piping, inlet and front pipe. You need to do something with the waste gate outlet as well. Plus custom oil and water lines. Oil return is a piece of cake, if a bit tight, just a 19mm 90 degree silicone bend.

I have a GT3076 external wastegate, HKS cast low mount [extrude honed], and a HKS 40mm std wastegate, they all bolt up fine. I'm still fitting it atm. The turbo, manifold and wg are all on the car.

I presume you are talking about a RB25?
