haha...yeh you guys are suckers...as if you would work two jobs or maybe even have a hobby or two that takes up all your free time...

Dan once i work out a sweet and easy to make dry sump pump bracket i reckon we should put abit more serious effort into this project.

I also need to work out a better way for welding the sump pan without it warping so much, but without being insanely time consuming.

We will talk in the near future mate...........ding ding ding and bling bling bling....i like the sound of money.

What? Aside from my 6.5 hours sleep every night, I still get 2 hours break where I'm not working.

Sif you don't envy me.

Probably the best way to stop it from warping is to tak it in multiple places and fill between. Not the neatest option but should solve that problem. Also I assume you would be bolting it down to a hard surface while welding. Another thing to try would be to get out the oxy and, while it's bolted down, throw some even heat into it all over. Might need two oxy's lol. That should take most of the kink out. Finished product can then be taken to Chilton Engineering. He will be able to straighten and surface grind the finished product for a completely level surface.

Aight?

you know dan...believe it or not i actually am a fabricator by trade...i did employ pretty well all of those techniques to stop it from distorting...still comes out abit funny though. I fully welded the whole thing bolted to a dummy rb30 block. The problem isnt flatness of the surface, as in it doesnt need to be ground so its flat, what happens is the flange sucks in(width ways)and the bolt holes dont line up perfectly. I have an idea in mind of how to fix that, but i need to make a steel jig that will replace the bottom end of the block. Apart from that little issue everything comes out pretty sweet. Ill have to get some pics up so you can see it.

no more hijacking of noels thread...

either a) bolt the flange to the block or b) make a jig with dowels in the bolt hole locations?

P.S u do realise i coulda given u the CAD file of the flange with the hole locations. i've had it for months :(

already did a cad drawing for it months ago....meh :(

shane already said i bolted the flange to the block when i welded it....really needs to be annealed after its been welded so it stays in its bolted position rather then pulling when you take it off. But my jig idea will work...just means i gotta make one...which blows.

OK the injectors Noel had are Delphi 650cc with an impedence of 2.5 ohms. The GTR 444 injectors are 2.1-2.2 ohms and the RB25 injectors are 370cc at 13.4 ohms.

Anyone know where I can get 11-12mm O rings with a 7.2mm inner diameter (11x2)? They came with 14x3.5 and 15x3.5 and with lower collars that fit the GTR runner ports perfectly.

pirtek? that other hose mob that begins with Z. pirtek is at industrial ave, wacol. and the other one (Z) is at rocklea (same side as BOC)

or there's qld diesel spares down at rocklea too (left hand side)

I keep 40 of the bastards in the top draw of my toolbox

The ones I have suit RB20, GTR and RX7 Nippons. They are a genuine only seal.

Well I used double O rings on the top using 11mmx2mm O rings from Ipswich Bearing Supplies. Seal is good and the car runs but until I get off my ass and reload the injector variances it will hunt a bit on closed loop.
