Will depend on a number of things mate... being a laptop the most obvious would be the gfx card you have in it. Most average laptops arent exactly well endowed with high end cards to play a lot of new games.

FPS games tend to use a lot of resources so if its a soft card theres probably not much you can do other then drop the quality settings in the game and make sure your running the most upto date drivers for the card
