Gtr Bumper On Gtst

Recommended Posts

ok so ive talked to a few people adn they say if you want to put a gtr front bumper on a gtst you have to buy new fenders and hood, that the lights are the same. they said there will be a little bit of a gap on between where the gtr bumper and the headlight. does anyone know if this will work. i have a gtr bumper sittin in my garage but wont fit on my gtst without modification. i live in the us so its hard to find parts and stuff

You can get a specialist plastic welder to do the job to make it fit, but otherwise it's a job that will need the guards. Then you need wheels to fill the guards or it looks poxy.

I have one I wanted on my GTS25t track car, but I'll keep it for the GTR instead.

guards aka front fenders... (metal part above front wheels)

I think someone should make a guide/sticky for this topic.. seems to be pretty common and popular.. (i'd like to know as well)

and all you haters out there that are going to jump on the bandwagon of "buy a real GTR" who cares lol.. GTR factory kits look awesome.. and theres no good looking R32 kits out there

From what I know, if you want to fit a genuine gtr bar to your gtst, you'll need the gtr guards and indicators for the bumper to fit properly. Chances are, you'll probably need a gtr reinforcement bar also. I don't think that you'll need to change your bonnet in any way for your bumper to fit.

thanks, yeah i got the bumper and lip free when i bought the car. tried to fit it and it was a no go. i dont know why i would need the hood. but i heard i need the fenders which makes sense since its a wider car. whats the bar? sorry we use different terms over here in the us. like guards i know as fenders. is the bar just the piece right below the lights that the bumper kinda sits on

My guess is that you'll have to change the gaurds, bonnet, maybe the reinforcement bar and headlights. I'm not too sure though. Best to wait till someone has an R33 with the GTR front done.

yeah you've got to change the guards on the r33, as geoff stated then you'll need wider offset wheels to make it look the goods, then you'll probably want to do something about the rear as it will look dicky if it isn't wide, and having a wider offset front than rear sounds dodgy imo lol..

    • Welcome.  Glad to hear that you have gained some knowledge that has helped you. I believe the only fix for the power steer belt is an electric conversion with a Holden astra pump. If you get a chance, post pics of your car, please. 🙂

    • to have this type of adjustment possible with a curve as I wish, what budget (engine) should be planned?

    • Harness update time have had great fun and learnt so much already so far with this project. I started off making both the ignition and injector sub harnesses in the hope any mistakes i made here aren't as hard to undo and learn from as the main harness.  A cool comparison of the old harness using presumably TXL wire and the new which is using Tezel. Also opted to use DTM plugs to keep the whole setup as neat and tidy as possible and tucked the wiring under the coil bracket to try and keep it all from sticking out too much. Although the injector harness, I'm not overly happy with as I'm still using the rubber boots that are supplied with the type of plugs it just looks ugly and sticks out like a sore thumb with the white identifiers so a slight redesign may be done.   Then it was main harness time and most importantly trying to route it nice and away from the heat it will use the OEM heater hose routing which is no longer present to keep the harness up high and secure. it's amazing how much smaller this harness is able to be compared to the old one. plugged everything into the emtron and with the help of the tuner again attempted to start it up and instantly fired up and running smoothly on all 6 which was a big shock to myself. So still some routing and adjusting to be done for the final fit up and installing a knock sensor harness plug which is in the post all has gone surprisingly well.     The old harness for shits and giggles.
