Was going to suggest something along the lines of this but yeah a quote and a *high five* will do :)

i was just coming back to say that, but not quite as bluntly. i was going to say it is a good hairdressers car. the only guys i know with mr2's are either gay/bi or love themselves a lot.
Yes the car looks the part for the homosexual crowd.

I'll try to do it up with some crazy carbon fibre bits and massive wing so it becomes a bit more hetero :)

You were implying he was gay!
Cute car.

I've always had a soft spot for these little cars...gay or not...we have to admit they handle alright...how difficult is it to swap the engine for a 2zz from a celica? it would give a hefty power increase wouldn't it? With a 2zz in there it would almost be a lotus elise...lolz...well...almost...congrats...

Not that difficult to shoehorn the 2ZZ in. It's a very popular conversion everywhere but Australia. Even the Techno Pro Spirits time attack MR-S in Japan uses the 2ZZ.

However the car must be converted to manual so you'll need to replace the SMT box.

And yes you're right once the 2ZZ is in you basically have a Japanese Elise!

Nice car bro!

But too slow for my liking

I went from R33 to MR-S for the exact same reason as you...save fuel, looks cool...etc

But after driving it for a few months, I got really really sick of it. too light and unstable at high speeds. Can't store anything for nuts, can't pick more than 1 passenger!!!! and no.1 ...SLOW....

So I sold it and went back to a skyline R34

haha...just my 2 cents

still nice looking though

    • From memory when the tank is full is when the resistance from the fuel sender reads its absolute lowest. It sounds like the short has made its way to the fuel sender wires... Which also means the short could possibly be in / around the cluster.
    • Actually, that's what that post is saying is happening, with only the LAST 10mm to the wastegate flange not divided. A whole single centimetre is what they're claiming caused that change. However, I haven't actually punched the numbers in etc to do any mafs, but they're talking 26PSi + of boost, and it taking nearly 2 seconds longer to climb a further 200rpm... Yep, it was in 4th gear, but, say that car does 2800RPM at 100km/h, they're talking a car making 26PSi, is taking an additional nearly 2 seconds to go from 128km/h, to 135km/h... That's pretty extreme to me. Also interesting as you scroll down through the comments and I started reading there was someone who's done very similar testing, on a hub dyno, back to back without even pulling car off the hub dyno, and barely saw any change what so ever on a stupid powered car.
    • You totally couldn't have that many cars running on Ethanol. You'd be employing two full time mechanics just to keep going through the vehicles, flushing old fuel out, and possibly changing anything the ethanol has eaten between the months it would be between drives.
    • A fine grit media blast would make short work of it after you tape up everything  I grabbed a cheapo Ozito one from bunnings for about $30 that I used to clean up some old brake calipers and some brackets Messy, but fast Wear PPE though, stuff dusts up and is really bad for your lungs and eyes
    • It's not true. RBs only have one gearbox bolt pattern. I mean, I was surprised that there was a different clutch bolt count on the weak NAs, but that's on the flywheel, which is not part of the engine.
