i just bought one of these..

http://www.clarion.com/au/en/products/2007...1866280106.html

but i dont have an Amp yet. i went into strathfield and explained what i had. an Enclosure with 2 subs and each end has a red connector and a black connector..

he presented me with 2 amp that was $400 each and said this is what you need to run it.. i look at my wallet. then looked back at him then said no way...

is this true. Do i really need 2 amps to run these 2 sub woofers?

how much am i looking at for this!

no you don't need two amps

just find a good two-channel single amp, with Low pass filter

and you should be able to run it just fine

Looking at the specs 600w peak, so about 150w RMS is normal,

so look for a 300 - 450w RMS 2 channel amp then check how much the RMS is per channel at 4ohm, because yours can only do 4ohm,

if it was a 2ohm sub i'm sure you could've used a 1 channel amp and run them in parallel

so yeah:

300-450w RMS 2 channel amp, putting out around 150w x2 RMS

Or if you want to be fancy-pants, the Jaycar 4channel response amp will do nicely! You can bridge the fronts for one connection, and bridge the rears for the other. Both sides will be fully adjustable as far as gain and crossover goes. You could even run one sub as "punchy" bass, and let the other do really *really* low bass. (providing your enclosure isn't open to both subs internally)
