hey all.

just wondering if anyone is using a jaycar boost controller? if so how easy/hard was it to fit to an r33? heard some good things about the settings on em but also heard they are a pain to tune, is this true? am using a turbosmart tee at the moment and over the prick of a thing spiking like hell! for the price of the jaycar one and a hand controller im thinkin it will be a go. just wanted to do a bit of homework first! :nyaanyaa:

cheers guys!

They are very good. Easy to install. I suppose how hard it is to build depends on how good you are with electronics. For me, it was a piece of cake.

Tuning does take a little while - you hvae to set solenoid duty v injector percentage. BUT the end result is the best possible boost curve possibly acheiveable because the boost controller blocks the boost signal to the actuator rather than just bleeding (with bleeding, some always goes through)

nice, i have a mate who worked for ibm so building it isnt an issue. does the tuning need to be done on a dyno or is it more a matter of reading and using the hand controller? or does it need to be done by a workshop? friend of mine has worked on imports a fair bit and has a basic knowledge of tuning ebc's...

cheers

check the Stagea section of these forums.

Sydney Kid did a small thread on it.

I have one already built for sale if you are interested.

hand controller too.

infact, I also have the Digital Fuel adjuster already built aswell.

what sort of $ would you be looking at for em? is the digital fuel adjuster needed on a 33 or just another tuning method?

Jay car prices:

boost controller - $79.95 as a kit to be put together.

hand controller - $59.95 as a kit to be put together.

Fuel adjuster - $79.95 as a kit to be put together.

I'll sell mine for $10 less each already put together.

boost controller - $70

hand controller - $60

Fuel adjuster - $70

Plus postage obviously.

also, I don't get how someone working for IBM has any more experience putting together a kit compared to anyone else that has hands, eyes and reading ability.

Are there any other boost controllers that control boost by blocking the air to the wastegate (like the Jaycar IEBC)?

Its the BEST way to do it, so it makes sense to me that it is the BEST boost controller out there.

I put mine together without any problem, just be careful and read the instructions. I bought the book from Jaycar aswell because the pics are clearer and its a good read.
