Hi Guys

Well i have this funny Clunk Noise on start up, especially when cold, it's like when the engine is just about to fire, it sounds like a pipe or something is hiting something else, and making a hollow clunk sound.

The noise, sounds like it comes from the pasanger side of the car, but when i open the bonnet, i can't hear anything when i start it up, it sound normal, so i presume it's under or at the back of the engine.

I have looked at the engine mounts, all good, no cooler pipes hitting anywhere that i can find, engine runs great, no noises or anythign else other then this.

Once the car is warm, the sound is not there most of the time, i presume that is mostly as the engine is a lot easier to start when warm.

There are only 3 or so clunk noises when you start it if you know what i mean, not an on going sound.

It doesn't sound mechanical, more like a screwdriver hitting the top pf a plastick bucket, exactly like that.

Any ideas what to look out for???????????

Yeah i checked that, the engine doesn't actually move when you start it much, and i certainly can't move the engine in either direction when off, looking arround the mount, it appears fine, no cracks. Will double check though.

Sorry to hijack a thread. Sometimes when in neutral, shift into reverse, give it some gas and it does this clunk sound. But its in the back or somewhere under the car. My ideas : driveshaft/subframe or gearvox moving ? Anyone had something like that before ? Thanks!
