define your "proper one"? agree on TT being rubbish.

at minimal an S model (i was kind of typing and thinking in reference to the thread).

S3 hmm maybe...

S4 would be my likely entry model.

the S5 however looks very impressive on the sheets, and i have no doubt of it performing accordingly.

yeah S models are worthy of being a real driver's car, but even better, an RS model.

some A4s are actually not bad performance cars for example: an 2007 A4 2.0T quattro 6 speed manual weighs at 1450kg +-. a good base for mods, responsive to performance upgrades, fmic, fuel, exhaust and even turbo if you have the budget. basiclly everything we do to our skylines you can apply to the A4. only holdback is the price, blame our tax system for that.

S3 would be easier to mod (presume you do mod your cars). a chip or ecu flash as they call it will get you from 195kw stock to 228kw. -http://www.oettinger.com.au/oau_audis38p_et.html

mind you S4 in Australia only comes with automatic transmission. good thing though for $20k extra you can get an RS4.

agreed... S3/S4 would be my pick to modify it. would have liked the S3 in a coupe model though.

and will agree again on the additional cash (which you'd end up spending in mods) to buy an RS4.

with an RS4, i'd leave it dead stock - there's nothing i'd possibly want to do to ruin a perfectly good car.

RS6 is the dream... and if/when they have the RS5; something a little more achievable!

i'd prefer an M3 over that or the future RS5 (if its ever released).

I think audi still has some way to go in challenging AMG and M-Hause, but they are certainly starting to make some progress. for example the RS4 was an incredible car, probably the best effort audi has made in challenging AMG and M.

there was a comparison done by one of the UK magazines between the new M3 and the current RS4 (both being N/A V8s) which the RS4 won in many areas like outright pace and grip. and the M3 was a more challenging drive hence more fun. can't remember the details though.

The RS5's rumoured to have a forced induction V8 or N/A V10 which should put it above the M3 in terms of performance.

I never liked cars of AMG, brutal force + auto only + boat like handling = not very German like engineering. more of a luxury yank muscle car image for me.

M haus =/> AUDI RS >>>>>>>>>.........AMG
