Dr_Drift
The Remapped RB25 ECU is the newest additon to the family... I have two projects nearly completed which will both have remapped ECU's... The end result is that it can be tuned exactly like I have been doing the RB20 ECUs for 6 years now. I did do a few of the RB25 ECUs a few years ago, but never knew where/how to the ECU done... till now! I'll post details up as soon as they happen Edited August 26, 2007 by Dr_Drift Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/181157-anyone-had-an-ecu-remap-done-by-dr-drift/page/2/#findComment-3309605 Share on other sites

Simon-S14
Jeff from The Speed lab did my rb25 with R32 ecu (the easier and cheaper way then rechipping a 33 ecu) and i believe jeff said sam also does them. Couldnt be happer with the result... my 33 ecu is now used as a paperweight Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/181157-anyone-had-an-ecu-remap-done-by-dr-drift/page/2/#findComment-3309806 Share on other sites

siddr20
Dr-Drift looking forward for those details.. Simon-R32- Did you have any problems with the r32 ecu running on an rb25? Also what needed it to changed/hacked/re-wired etc to make it work for an r25 engine? Simon-S14
no probs what so ever, plugs straight in, however the 20 ecu cannot run the VCT, was no real issue for me as with the remap done, timing changed, boost raised it still has bucket loads of torque down low anyway! Getting full boost at 2500 rpm, makes 215 rwkw on 0.9 bar with stock turbo. Drives like a dream, smooth clean power with awesome responce! siddr20
Wow thats hectic.. Good to hear I will see what dr-drift says.. Could be cheaper way with r32 ecu.. hmmm Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/181157-anyone-had-an-ecu-remap-done-by-dr-drift/page/2/#findComment-3312272 Share on other sites
Simon-S14
theres no doubt about it, its the cheaper way as parts are cheaper, rather then the more expensive parts needed for a 33 ecu. Dr_Drift
We've also done quite a few R32 ecus in R33s... we found the only wiring to be changed for street applications was when running an RB25 loom the idle switch needed to be wired in, only improved. We've also has some good success using the buddy club VTEC controller as a cheap VCT rpm output.. IMHO - Remap the R33 ECU is the best way to go... R33silverS2
very keen on results.. The r32 ecu sounds like an interesting idea also. Yet if Sam nails the 33 ones then that makes for an easy decision. Tangles
we've talked a little in emails DrDrift - but one lingering "concern" for those on a budget (ie, me) how much roughly for a remap to Stagea automatic ecu? FYI; pinout on ecu is the same as for an R34GTT, although my 1997 engine is definately a non-Neo........ this is something I'd look at in 12months time or so Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/181157-anyone-had-an-ecu-remap-done-by-dr-drift/page/2/#findComment-3313045 Share on other sites
siddr20
simon- but was your rb25 a series 1 or 2? I dont think the r32 ecu will work on the series 2.. Dr-Drift, when you coming to sydney? Simon-S14
the 32 ecu WILL work on series 2. Mine is a S1 Sam: have you got more info about the idle switch wiring? i havent done this and mine doesnt idle as it should some times Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/181157-anyone-had-an-ecu-remap-done-by-dr-drift/page/2/#findComment-3314138 Share on other sites
PM-R33
the 32 ecu WILL work on series 2. Mine is a S1 Sam: have you got more info about the idle switch wiring? i havent done this and mine doesnt idle as it should some times So it definetely works on the series II?? No problem with the different ignitor between series I and series II?? Dr_Drift
R33 ones are nailed! We are using the same boards as used to be in ash's R31 RB25 which was fully programable 5 years ago! We've only just been able to source the boards in the last few months... Non-Neo Stagea is same price as R33, and AT is no problems, e-mail for quotes please. Simon - Check the pinouts from R32 to R33 you will see the differences there.... I think PaulR33 has it on his page somewhere???
