not with the amount of money that's been thrown at it, it won't. At the end of the day, it's still a Dayz with 135000km on it.... But you don't modify to improve value, and I love it dearly...

congrats to both of you :)

hey - before you take the cars over the pits .. be 110% sure they have working imobilisers.

its law here in WA .. and we didnt know we didnt have one .. and almost got failed right off the batt at the pits.. good luck peeps!

What are series 1's selling for these days in Japan?

About 15% more this week than it was last week! (FOB anyway)

Micah, I will give you 12 and a half mate :)

(probably the replacement value of your front brakes truth be known)

:P

  • 4 weeks later...

Where are you getting complied? And how long all up will it be from payment date to pick up (assuming 2 weeks to comply and register!)???

I ask b/c I have put my money down on my S2 just over one week ago and I'm trying to figure out an approximate "baby come home" date!!!

Mine may take a little longer as I have to register it in NSW... as I live just over the border...

iijj

I live in Coffs, so getting it trucked down after compliance. She's getting complied at Shogun (also known as something else.... can't remember now) and it should be about 12 weeks from when I made the first payment to getting it delivered..... can depend a bit on when ships are leaving etc.

Well, it's taken freakin ages, but supposedly my Stag is getting delivered today! It's been at compliance for ~4 weeks.... not their fault, dotars just took that long to get the paperwork back. Probably won't be able to get it blue slipped today, but hopefully on monday! For anyone elses interest, I paid for the car on the 18th of July, so it's taken about 3 months in total......

Sound's about right with the 3 month total time, although 4 weeks for paperwork would have been a painful wait as it was max 10days with both cars i've brought in....bet you cant wait to just get in it now???? lol

yeah, dotars has been a big hold up recently..

my car, along with 18 others was at the compliance yard for about 2 months waiting for approval.

I reckon you got a bloody good deal there- all that $$ you saved can go on a few cosmetic mods.

and.. the wait is all but over - oh I was sooo apprehensive when I saw the car for the first time as I thought - I am going to do my freaking naaanaa if anything has been damaged on it.

Fantastic... i can barely wait to get mine as it is.... and itll be a 3 month wait AFTER i find one til it gets here!!!

Good conditioned black/white S2 manuals are thin on the ground.

Glad to hear its all happening for you, and at a good price, too!!! Hope you are pleased.

    • I found the same with Subaru’s.  I own and love the SG9 Forester, after that model 2008+, Subaru threw the ugly stick at all their line up and somehow managed to make them look worse with every succeeding year.  lol
    • It's something we all have to consider as time marches on. Also consider lifted rally MX5 conversion at that point.
    • I should be fine for a few more years, whilst I do have arthritis I also exercise and do mobility training every day to keep as fit and healthy as I can, military life, which is the actual cause of most of my joint issues, has set daily regimes, which I weirdly enjoy I also train alot smarter now, not really focusing on lots strength or puffy muscles, I'm more focused on maintaining what I have for my future older self, I actually train as much mobility now as I do exercising Check out this "simple" drill I have been doing daily prior to training now for a while now, this has worked wonders in my all round mobility
    • I'd say one thing that may make you sell is the same reason the guy with the hard top roof sold his. He got old, and his back was giving him too much grief stopping him getting in and out... Old guy said he was 73! He looked and sounded younger than 73 to me! Or maybe I'm just aligning with old people more...
    • Already looked at a few prior to getting the MX5, really nice car, had all the mod cons, but I wasn't really sold on the new "look" I did miss my 2017 Limited, and I personally prefer the "look" of the older car over the new model, but, when pondering I kept going back looking at MX5's But it was same same for the new ND's, I wasn't sold on the new "look", especially the RF with its weird roof, which only half goes down, like a targa top sort of thing As I stated before, I did look at NC's, but the cars I looked at were PRHT's, but I didn't like their roof line "look" of the PRHT, until I saw the soft top version, (someone on SAU posted a for sale ad for one with a soft top that caught my attention, you can blame them for my choice.....🤣) and.... that old style detachable hard tops were available for them, which keeps the old MX5 more smoother flowing roof line, and the more rounded body style, similar to the NA-NB, to me, the arse end of the ND looks to "modern" Much like how I prefer the NC1 front bar, over the later models How long will I keep this car for is unknown, but currently, there's nothing else out there that "floats my boat" for a small, fun, little "sports car", that I can play with and enjoy looking at and driving But, who knows what the future holds, and going off current new car styling, if I replace it, it will be a older model something something
