Arp Vg30 Rod Bolts..

Hi.

Just got my vg30 rod bolts from ARP for my RB25DET s1... But looks alot like the Nut will run out of thread when put together in the rod?

Do I need to ad a shim or?

The VG30 ones fit the RB26 rods, For the RB25 you can use SR20 bolts.

Yes, but i have the VG30 bolts.

Arp make connecting rod bolt washers.. Can i use those to compensate?

I can make my own hardened washers, but need to know what HRC they are..

Also do rods need to be resized after a bolt change? What if i dont do this? Because engine is assempled.. and would hate to tear it apart now, and need to buy a different size bearing now. :-(

Put the VG30 bolts on the shelf or ebay and buy the ones that fit. Rod bolts aren't something to take a risk with. you do need to resize the rods once you fit bolts, you can't fit them while the rod is in the engine, it takes quite a bit of force to remove the old bolt and you only need a tiny bit of misalignment to put the tunnel out of shape. You'd be better off leaving the standard bolts in there rather than stuf around fitting the wrong ones. Might be a better option to buy a set of used 26 rods which the bolts will fit and are a heap stronger than the 25 ones.

I am pretty sure ARP2000 Rod bolts will fit.

You will need 1.5 packs, as 1 pack only has enough for 4 rods.

can i use new oem nissan rod bolts to swap into my rb26 or isit even worth doing?

also is it the vg30dett or vg30de rod bolts i wanna use?
