Ahoyhoy

I've fab'ed up a camera mount that bolts into the rear jesus bar mounts in my car.

I’ve noticed that a few people have a similar setup that race at the club days.

Just wondering what sorts of measures are required for actually mounting the camera to the mount.

I'm assuming the little M8 bolt in the bottom will not suffice.

Ideas?

the cams manual says you need pretty much a full box made out of (minimum) 5mm plate, but i've seen ones with as little as the m8 bolt in the bottom and a single cable tie over the camera.

i think the main thing they look for is something at the front of the mount, to stop the camera flying forwards.

they better allow my new one, can't arsed making it again

mine uses a billet alloy mount to clamp to on of the roll cage bars, then the plain ol M8 bolt into the botton, and then a kevlar strap around the camera to hold it down. The strap has a strain rating label attached too (from memory it's 200 pounds or something). it was approved by the scrutineer at a recent cams speed event.
