Cam Seal

Im just changing my seals for my cams (dont need them by their looks, but will since i bought them) anyways my intake (VCT) cam im not sure if i pull it apart if its springloaded (heard of some cars. BMWs?) any tips? this is my first time.

If your talking about the plate on the front of the VCT, yep, its spring loaded. Nothing that you can hold with a couple of fingers but just be aware of it. Make sure you dont loose the 4 little phillips head screws when your pulling it off !

hey once you get that cover off and the center bolt out (remember to do this before you take the belt off....) how do you pull the damn gear off??

ok this is bullshit - how do you get the old cam seals out?!? i'm trying with flat head screw drivers a bent piece of wire - nothing works!?

another edit: some good needle nose pliers and a lot of jigging around did it (i never had any pliers to start with....idiot)
