Hey guys

I've been having a few issues with my r32 GTR running rich and loosing power over 6000rpm. My mechanic has done a bunch of work and it's spent two days with a guy with a dyno who is unable to identify the issue. He said it is likely that there are internal mods to the engine which we don't know about because i bought it with a recently rebuilt engine, but we don't know what's inside.

Mods are as follows:

garret 2560r turbos

3 inch dump pipes

3 inch exhaust incl high flow cat

high flow HKS panel air filter.

manual boost controller (set at 11psi)

The mechanic said that i will need an aftermarket computer to get around this issue. I am wondering what the best to get is. My understanding, from reading lots of posts of aftermarket computers, is that the apexi power FC has basically every option that could be needed. I don't intend to do any more modifying, and just want the car to run right again so i don't need lots of extra options. What i'm asking though is whether the Apexi power FC is likely to be able to fix this issue.

He has suggested the wolf 500, but this costs close to $2000, and i am wondering whether it is likely to have any more options to get around the issue which i have. I guess what i'm asking is what are the advantages, if any, of the wolf?

I've found a apexi power FC in the for sale section, which says it is for the 32 GTR. Are there several different models of the same apexi power FC, or were they made differently across the years with different features?

look i know alot of people are gonna wanna kill me for saying this but i am gonna say it based on what you have said in your post:

"I don't intend to do any more modifying, and just want the car to run right again"

get your hands on an apexi SAFC2. install and tune and it will stop the car running rich. knowing you dont intend on modding it more its a viable option, that with install and tune will only set you back about $500. (provided you buy SAFC2 second hand).

if u feel you may change our mind and want to mod your gtr more, then a Power Fc is good buy now. things is you dont wanna get an SAFC2 then decide you gonna mod more and buy PFC. its just wasting money on install and tune and time too.

sit down and really think about what your end target is, if its power get a PFC, if its really just to get the car to run at a proper air/fuel mix and get some better economy, get the SAFC2

For $900 or so, the PowerFC cant be beaten.

And yes, the mech/tuner is right. Your running much larger turbos than stock.

This required tuneable management.

So, it sounds like the Power FC will have the options required for this?

Does anyone know the model number of apexi power FC that i require? Is it PFCRB26 - which is suitable for both the r32 and r33 gtr?
