Keys Stuck In Ignition

Hey guys, I've just fitted a B&M shifter onto my Automatic R33. Ive connected the neutral safety switch as it says to do so in the instructions, But i cant remove my keys from the ignition. There permanently stuck onto ACC, Id anyones knows of a wire i can cut that disengages this it would be great, Cheers Shane.

Uh could it be that you simply have the steering/ignition locked? Have you tried turning the steering wheel and turning the key at the same time?

Yeah tried that mate, its the same lock as you get when you leave the Auto in any gear apart from Park or Neutral.

Does your ignition have the key release depress button towards the bottom left of the ignition?

If not, something has broken inside the ignition or steering lock assembly. It not electrically switched to release the key. It purely a mechanical fault of the ignition.

The neutral safety switch just prevents the car from being started in neutral or any other gear apart from park as far as I know.

Is the keyed pushed all the way into the ignition?

Don't try and pull the key out of the ignition in any other position apart from lock. You could do even more damage to the ignition and your keys.

I'd say its a mechanical fault of the ignition. Call a locksmith. Or to cut down on costs, remove the steering lock assembly and bring it in too them. Can be a pig of a job to do though sometimes.
