Judging by the overall quality and presentation of the majority of cars they sell, I concur.

The thread starter in this case could take a leaf out of Global Auto's book when it comes to taking good quality high resolution photos to help market a car for sale.

TT fees are 22AUD and most japanese banks charge 2,500 yen also. so the total TT fees are $50 AUD. so if we are talking 5 or 10 grand or more here those fees don't count for much.

nah it's bad for your money in aus. the AUD has gone down. you would have been better off to send your aus money to japan when the rate was up over 100JPY/1AUD. :)

anyway, hopefully you'll get it. It's a nice car and a bit special being such a late model.

i think GTR's will increase in price in the long run as long as they are kept relatively stock. just like any other 'classic' in the making. for example i'm sure there was a period in the GTHO's life when they were fairly cheap, and now its not uncommon to see original restored examples selling for over $100,000

makes you wonder if people think about the long term when they modify their cars.

just remember that most modifications will reduce the value of the car once it is old enough to be considered a classic.

so with your rationale in mind, do you think this guys off his tree on two fronts..?

1 for asking so much for a 140k old R32 and

2 for selling it??

maybe the R32 will be an icon once almost everyone has forgotten about the skyline, except for a handful of dried up old crones harbouring a pristine 40k example in the back of a beaten old garage...in the year 2045..

Now that the generation that appreciates the BNR32 the most are starting to earn higher salaries, demand for stock standard examples is definitely on the increase. I believe prices bottomed at $20,000 and are on the increase. This is a big call, but because of it's godzilla status and heritage I think in 3 years clean examples will be worth mid to high 20's and roughly the same price as the R33 GTR.

so with your rationale in mind, do you think this guys off his tree on two fronts..?

Yes and no. Yes because a car like that will probably be worth a small fortune in 10 years time (assuming its kept in mint condition). No because if i was a cashed up GTR enthusiast who wanted a prime example of an R32 Godzilla, that car would be the perfect buying opportunity.

The GTHO didn't cop this much notorious criticism and negative media driven backlashings? If i remember correctly the GTHO Phase III caused such a public outcry that ford decided to end development of the Phase IV and all subsequent Phase GTs.

If anything the Phase 3's notoriety is what makes it the collector's special it is today. :laugh:

Trust me, in the long run original well maintained GTRs of any example will be worth more than we expect.

I think it's reasonable since it's an Australian delivered GT-R. Stop it getting in the hands of some wannabe street racer who's first modifications would probably be pod filters and a bleed valve.

The wheels are about the only thing that lets it down a bit... Simmons :thumbsup:

If I was you id look into something like an ING account.. Im currently earning a little less then 7% and making a few hundred per month in interest. and I believe we are in the same boat..

buying a performance car to have fun is a good idea (if you can afford it).

Buying a performance car to have fun but looking to profit off it in the future isnt such a great idea.

Yes and No

In the long run..a R32 will be the cheapest and then R33 more expensive and the 34GTR well lets just say it will be

the equivalent of A GTHO Phase III...and this is in any form..worked or original...

So..if you want a Gem..get a GTR34...and lock it up.

Just for comparisons sake, i pay $1280 for a R33 98 gtst,

....and maybe another reason they don't sell well is cause the R33 GTST's are pretty damn good in my opinion,

particularly with a few nice mods to get it up to the 250rwkws.

Personally I think some of the problem is who is buying these cars.

You have buyers with barely a dollar to their name who don't give a toss and just want a GTR not thinking how much more they'll need to keep the car on the road after the intital buying price.

And then you have "enthusiasts" who have the money to buy the nicer examples.

The buyers who can't "really" afford the car drive the prices down.

e.g say i'm 22yrs old, buy a crap 32 GTR for 24K. 2 months into it I realise I need another 20k to get the car running in a decent way, and decide I can't afford this. Now I'm desperate to sell and get rid of it for 19k. Times this buy a few hundred and all of sudden there are a lot of cheap cars on the market which drive the price of all of the model down.

In the GTR's case, the VAST majority of buyers can't afford to look after the cars as they should be, which also puts a large number of absolute crap on the market.

Agreed with Nismo the prices fall so badly because they are bought by people who cant afford them & buy on loan so as soon as they have to spend a few grand on maintenance they cant afford it & have to sell in a hurry at a cheap price.

My 32 GT-R is for sale at a decent price(30K) eventually i will get close to it you just have to hold out, if you have a good example the right buyer will come along.
