as per title,

do any companies offer services to fix interior squeaks/noises? Want to get rid of some, and haven't had any experience with trim removal, etc, or any techniques to stop the noises. I don't mind giving it a shot myself, but just wondering if there is anyone who offers this type of service, where i could just pay to get it done

cheers,

daniel

As for technique... probably pull the panel/part off and see whats loose?

There cant be too many things making noises, and if you glue/bolt in whatever could make noise, im sure it will soon fix it

This may sound stupid, but have u emptied the car of everything? ...keys, cd case, loose change etc. I had a similar problem and found that the cd case in the glove box was rather heavy and bulging. The weight and bulge seemed to push on the glove box door which bowed it by that hundredth of a mm causing the edges/contact surfaces to vibrate during driving, hence the rattling noise. This was on my Commodore mind you :)

I've also found that if a vehicle is parked in the sun every day of its life, after a couple years it could develop a few lil squeaks that way due to fatigue caused by constant heat expansion/contraction....depends on the car though.

If ur keen and got the weekend free, try removing (even partly) the dash and maybe try some blu tack on all the contact surfaces, and behind where the screws go maybe???

....or u could try a re-upholsterer?

Pull the car apart yourself, It is like 1 big lego set. :)

I had similiar problem with my line, pull it a part, put foam in spots where cables rub metal, tighten the cables in the doors, tape the plastic lining on the door down with masking tape. Expand the electric window winder switch with tape to get a snug fit in the door. Pull the dash a part and tighten wiring, then put it back together.

get one sided damp rid tape, doesn't cost much, find where the squeak is coming from and jam it down the side, sticky side towards chassis

should work ok

or if you wanted to go crazy, get some dynamat, remove the panel, cover behind hte panel with the dynamat and put it back

it'll cost a bit though

shite load of options, thanks guys!

i think it's probably a good excuse to learn how to dismantle the car anyway, as opposed to hunting for someone to pay to do it.

i'll post pics if i get around to destroying the trim, so at least the 34 owners can get an idea if they don't know how to. I'd imagine the skylines are fairly similar anyway.
