Hey y'all,

This afternoon I was on my way to work when my car died in the arse, and would not start up again... what the f**k is going on here! I thought to myself. but anyways, it would not start up again and I had to leave it on the side of the road... It'd just crank over and over but not start. headlights and stereo still worked but the power windows & none of the red dash warning lights would light up when you turned the key to the ON position like they normally would

I came back to the car after my shift and it somehow started up first go.. I left it idling for about a minute then it cut out again just like the first time, no dash warning lights or power windows would work like before. I had a look in the cabin & engine bay fuseboxes and they looked ok, nothing obviously f**ked up. after a few minutes of buggering around checking fuses and ruckusing random wires in the engine bay I gave it another go and it started again, a few seconds later I turned the headlights on and it cut out again (note: headlights were not touched first 2 times it cut out).

waited another few minutes and started it again, tapped the accelerator and the bastard cut out again. It then started raining so I thought f**k it and went home

the only thing ive done recently on the car is replaced the o2 sensor and the a/c control unit about a week ago

Is there some random fuse somewhere that trips over and over that would cause this? or is the alternator f**ked up?

thanks!@

if your alternator was stuffed your battery would go flat and eventually you would be able to start your car at all. just and idea but sounds like you maybe have a loose or dodgey wire that is on you ignition barrell that sets the on position, power to your power windows and ecu and so on. i'd be checking that for a start. your head lights have power all the time and your stereo gets juice from acc position.

QWK32 wins, it was the ignition cutout relay hooked to my alarm. A few of the wires coming off it were only just touching, must have been shorting out something?. connected them up tight and shes running sweet again

cheers!
