i think its the fanbelt/engine belt thing or something im not sure, i looked down at it the other day and it says "mitsubishi"??? is that right?!?

i have tried spraying it with wd-40 a few times it works for a day or so then it squeeks again, its really loud and really anoying it has been pissing me off for along time, anyone know anything about it or how to fix it?

after driving the car for 3-4 minutes it stops, when its cold its really loud, im guessing this has to do with something heating up and expanding or someshit i dont know

its a 97 r33 non turbo.

Yeah i had something like that too but the squeaking only happened when i depressed the throttle. And after pressing and depressing the throttle a few times when cold the sound disappears. Only happens ocassionally though :P

mine does it after its been sitting for a while (overnight, maybe 6hrs+) but not if the car has been running slightly earlier.

^^^ mine is exactly the same

the reason why i put wd-40 on it is because i called up the place where i got my car from and the guy told me too, as i know nothing about cars.(hell i dont even have a toolbox) i did what he said.

but anyway sweet as il book it in at a place my gf gets her car serviced, aparently they are really honest and cheap...something hard to come by these days when dealing with mechanics

edit:thanks for your help guys, this problem has been pissing me off for months its so anoying waking up getting in the car half asleep and then having to listen to an ear pearcing screech, and even worse when you have to go somewhere late at night (maccas or something) and you live at the bottom of the court and wake up every single neighbour.

i'd say if its squeeking really loudly like high pitch styles then its too tight - hence when u spray WD on it the sound goes away

had that problem with my rb20 when i first got it

there's an adjuster in front of the wheel - from memory it is a horizontal screw with an L-type bracket on it. depending which belt i'm, - just going from the top of my head. loosen that just a little bit and you should be right.

If you're not confident doing it then just take it to a mechanic. a decent one shouldn't charge you much if anything for it.

cheers hope it helps

Its the alternator belt... mine did this too..

Its really easy to adjust.. If you're near Rosanna i can do it for you...

However if the belt is old and cracked.. its time for a new one

Here you go

1) Loosen bolt 1 with a 12mm socket or spanner

2) Tighten bolt 2 with same spanner

3) Check belt tension (if its tighter you've done it right)

4) Tighten bolt 1 again

X2 , u can get this belt grip stuff but it only a stop gap

f**ken sweet! il try fixing it myself tomorrow.

the belt it VERY tight, i think? i dont know really as i have nothing to compare it too...apart from my gf's n12 pulsar?

il try losening it, then tightening it, see what works best it carnt be too hard.
