Guys it was my bad about the information provided to the workshop mentioned in this thread with regards to compatibility since I mixed up the model numbers. Usually I refer to the Nissan vehicle designation (WC34) rather than trim codes

RS4 Series 1 and 260RS cannot be Nistuned but RS4 Series 2 (with RB25DET NEO) can be. Anything which has ECU part number 23710-0V8xx in it can be done with Nistune Type 4 boards. Hope that helps

  • 4 weeks later...

You emailed me this q over the weekend? Not replied yet but only VLT, S13 CA18 and HCR32 currently have knock reporting active

Other models dont yet because I have to dig through Nissan/JECS code to find the memory locations where knock is recorded and add extra code to spit it out the consult port. Currently BNR32 and Z32 have identified locations but cant seem to get it working yet

So your knock count will be zero. I'm going to hide this gauge to avoid future confusion

As for the 'consult guages' not appearing, check under 'windows' menu and cascade them in case its hiding off screen for some reason

yeh hehe

consult gauges work, thats the window we had open during tuning, but the multiple consult gauges only opens 3 windows, inj duty, knock count and TP..

when i first got it and had the consult plugged in, the multiple gauges were working

Havent read anything in this post for a long time but i thought i might input this:

Ran a RB31/26DETT without problems.

R33 GTST S1 harness without VCT hooked up

Q45 Throttlebody

Twin Q45 AFMs through Apexi SAFC-II (2 in 1 out with average output)

1600CC injectors through GTR resistor pack

R32 GTR coils

and much more..

While it was beeing built:

Worked a treat, sad to see the engine gone, sold it some months ago.

How accurate is the 'timing' displayed in the nistune consult gauges for setting base timing ??

That's like getting a blank ruler, randomly drawing a centremeter mark on it then going how accurate is it for setting the base cm mark on other rulers....

It is as close as it gets .. given that you have aligned the timing mark on the crank pully with what Nistune displays ..

Whats the max hp the Nistune type 4 can handle. Is it suitable for a 30 25 neo with gtx3582r freddy plenum 1000cc injector hpx1 airflow meter.

Will it be up to the task

Scroll back a bit ^^ to Brother Davids's set up - reckoned it was ok at 700hp

HP is relative to the AFM, however using those HPX ones inside of a 3" pipe will give you the resolution needed.

Just need to be smart with the TP Load scaler :)

I love Nistune, especially with the feature pack. Launch and flex support, albeit I've yet to setup a car with the flex support on it. Should have one of the Nissan Silvia boys doing it in a few months.

    • Hey everyone, This is my first post apart of the introduction. I tried searching a bit on the forum but couldn't really get a straight answer. I got the car to my mechanic as I felt it being weak. It seems that it was missing on two cylinders due to the injectors. I had all my injectors clean and the car runs much better. The mechanic also confirmed my suspicions that the cat is clogged and needs to be tackled asap. The cat rattles a bit and the hot exhaust warning frequently lights up when driving after getting the injectors clean. In my introduction I was asked about what modification I might be interested in and mentioned a cat delete. From what I was told, this is not really beneficial on the RB20DE and there are more cons than pros.  Could perhaps anyone give some suggestions on what the best course of action would be since the current cat is toast and needs to be removed/replaced anyway? I can also sometimes smell a strong smell of fuel, but I'm not sure if this is related.
    • Hope the cans went down well at least
    • 255 can't go wrong with the price.
    • When I was replacing my pump due to being stranded in the wrong state, I went with the Deatschwerks 320lph kit. It is a direct plug in to the stock wires, harness, everything. It comes with a plug... but you can plug the OEM plug directly into this thing. https://justjap.com/products/deatschwerks-dw300-fuel-pump-nissan-s13-silvia-r32-r33-r34-skyline-c34-stagea?currency=AUD Downside: Won't actually flow that much on boost if you want to push it on E85, but it's comparable to the 040/255 etc. Little more actually.
    • I dunno what the "best" one is....but when my 040 died late last year, after about 20 years of screaming service....I put in a 255. Like any such thing, you have to finagle it a little bit - it's not a no-brain swap. But it's not hard.
