How does everyone mount their rear plates? I just got my replacement plates and only just noticed that my rears have the sides bent to fit. No idea how I'm gonna get the new plates to bend like it is currently and I've heard cutting them are a no-no as well...

Ideas?

cutting is a defect as is having it bent, ive had a cop warn me over mine being bent.. theres just no other way tho.. cop was stumped as to what i should do, thus why he let me off with a warning.

As for if u do go ahead and bend it, pretty sure mine were just hit with a hammer to bend them lol

i had to cut mine to fit in the import garnish. Bending would have been worse on mine as it would have blocked the side mounted number plate lights. if you bend with a vice, remember to put a cloth or something over them so the reflective crap doesnt peel off on the sharp edges

I've heard that some imports have slots cut out of the rear bar so that you don't need to cut/bend the plates to fit, wonder how hard it would be to do. I know my bar is plastic so at least it'd be easy to cut. Anyone out there have slots? If so, how was it done?

I had an issue with my front plate. The car yard a bought it from fixed it by snipping the top two corners out. I thought that I could get defected so I contacted a friend who has a friend who is a Senior Sargeant in SA Police and he said as long as the plate is visible and the rego number is clearly visible and not defaced in any way then it is ok. So I don't know. I have driven past a few police cars now close enough for them to see my plate and they haven't stopped me.

You can make a decision on that I guess
