I dont wish to put your dream idea down Gach2 but a good friend of mine has recently experienced the same reality however it was in a VL with the rb25de, The mechanic said a few things needed, not much about 1500- 2000 should cover it. but they always forget something and one thing after another, one hicup after the next, it was $4400.

The guys advising you to just buy a different car rather than answer the question make a very valid point.

And the wait.... i picked him up every weekend for like 2 months!! and his paint work was scratched, his brakes couldnt keep up and it was in need of re registration!!!

ended up being a $10000 VL turbo he could have bought for $5000 completed and regoed.

hope that angle helps make the decision.
