I have just realized that I have two manifold studs missing, one on the bottom runner of no 1. and the top of no 4.

Will it be a problem to keep driving the car (just lightly to work and back, very little boosting) until I get time /money to pull the manifold off and replace the studs.

Also where do you recommend I get my genuine Nissan parts from as my local one says that they have no listing on imports and will have to ring head office. Where do you get ur stock stuff in NSW???

Thanks

Jason.

Very common. Im guessing R33 GTS-t? Fine to drive it till you fix it. If you give me your VIN i'll tell you the part numbers that you can give to Nissan. Either that or you can get aftermarket studs from somewhere like Repco etc..

Yeah its an r33 gtst

yeah sure man i'll take a look at it in the next few days( got a lot on)

Also what about the gaskets I rang Liverpool Nissan and they wanted 125 just for the manifold gasket!!!!

Does this sound right?

Jason.

which dealership wouldn't give you import part numbers? every place I've tried is happy to carry import parts these days - they just charge a fortune

It was Moss Vale they are actually a Holden dealership that deals with Nissan, so its no wonder that they didn't want to help me.

Where does everyone else get theirs from in NSW which NISSAN dealers have you delt with that were accomodating with giving out import info.

All I wanna do is get the car to a standard that I know that I will be able to drive it anywhere I want to go.

looks like this is becoming more difficult as time goes by.

:)

Drive it now, it's fine with a couple of missing studs. Though having 4 go missing is odd, it's usually the 2 end ones (1 & 6)

I found the parts place at penrith to be the easiest to deal with out of all of them so far. Campbelltown can do it but tend to grumble a bit if you don't have the vin and chassis numbers (bit hard when you have a 25det in a 32) but you can coax them into it and you'll get the right part. For studs though i'd get aftermarket, same with nuts. you do need the thick washers though, but if you can pinch them off something in a wreckers that works too.

Yep, stock gasket costs about 130. I haven't had an issue with one yet so will continue to get original ones. I tend to get single layer turbo gaskets these days though and haven't had an issue with them at all.

I went to campbelltown Autobarn where a friend of mine works and asked him about the manifold gaskets his reply was

'Yep we can get them' Manifold gasket $48

Turbo flange gasket $13

Dump gasket $20

Studs and nuts about $25-30

Looks like i'll be getting parts from here from now on

Also asked about radiator hoses Bottom hose was like $20 Im really happy now gonna be getting the parts either next week or the week after.
