BOOSTD
rich-lean rich-lean. Its is called hunting, and is caused by ur idle up valve taking a to bigger gulp of air which the ecu over compensates for. Demon Dave
Could also be caused by your aircon compressor pump engaging - if you had the AC switched on that is! Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/18212-idle/page/2/#findComment-431701 Share on other sites
Scotty
Thanks BoostD and Demon Dave, well the ac was off so suspect it's this Hunting problem. May I ask, is there anything I can do to stop this, or moreso, should I be worried right now? Thanks! rb25
Scotty - i rekon your AFM is dirty/dodgy. cav - i think you should try and readjust your TPS. I think its done with the motor running, move teh TPS around very slightly. I cant be sure about this tho'. YEE-HAA
I have finally got my car to the mechanic, who said it wasn't the TPS, or the aac valve, but it was the air regulator under the inlet manifold. Mine was stuck fully open and sucking lots of air all the time and needing lots of fuel at the same time too. I have changed it and my first week's normal run showed an instant improvement with a 12.8l/100km around town. A lot better from the high 13's-low 14 l/100 I was getting before. Cold start idling is now at a respectable 1100 rpm and then around 600-800rpm when warm. Also feels like a different car to drive as well. Next thing to do is fit the new fuel pump!
